How IMPORTANT is your........JOB/CAREER? Is your job/career just a means to an end? Or is your
job/career....your life, the reason for your existence, the be-all, end-all?
It is not my reason for existence. I like to try and have a well-rounded life: family, romance, friends, spirituality, hobbies, travel, etc.
My career is important. It's how I earn a living, and it's what I love to do (writing). I had to work hard and long and went through a lot of jobs before I was able to start making a full-time living as a writer and quit my 'day jobs.' I love my work and don't mind getting up in the mornings or doing some overtime. It's my passion-- usually, lol. Not every writing project is the most stimulating but overall I love it.
However, I try not to let any one single thing in life consume me. I like to keep a healthy balance.
