As a child, did your parents encourage you to be an individual, curious, a leader, & an independent thinker? Or did they demand total conformity, blind obedience, & discouraging all forms of individuality & independent thinking?
Neither of those scenarios Just normal, run of the mill 60s/70s British upbringing. Plenty of freedom, yet expected to behave to a certain standard when around adults.
Independent thought was encouraged in all aspects, except fora demand of obedience for social courtesies. Good manners were always expected and failure to abide by that had dire consequences.
