Should Daylight Savings Time be Abolished Worldwide?

   The European Union in currently debating whether daylight savings time should be permanently discontinued.  Similar conversations have arisen in the United States from time to time as well.  Changing our clocks for the sake of seasonality does seem ridiculous when you step back and really try to put your arms around it - we're no longer a global society which is tied to the sun.

      Yes, I agree it should be abolished but there are several alternative proposals. Which one to adopt and get the international community to agree is the hard part. That is why individual states and countries has taken up themselves to drop it.

      Why not keep it and abolish the shift back to Standard Time? Isn't it six of one and a half dozen of the other?

   For some reason, my internal clock runs on DST. I love it and always have loved it. I function better on it. I guess I'm not in step with the world, but I would be happy if all the world's time was changed to DST. Does that make me an alien from another planet? LOL

      I hope it doesn't make you an alien MizBejabbers, because I like it too.
      
      To me, it feels like I am getting a good start on the day when I get up with the sun, (without that having to be 4:30 or 5am). And I especially like the late evening daylight.

   The purpose of Daylight Saving Time is to make better use of daylight - particularly helpful for farmers. I'm happy with it. If something works why fix it?
