What is the easiest instrument one can learn to play in a short period of time
I would say the piano or guitar since they only require your hands. You can learn to play simple tunes in a rather short amount of time. However, it is difficult to learn to play any instrument well in a short period of time although it's not impossible. Some people just are more musically talented then others. In the end it all depends on you personally. You may enjoy one instrument over another and may be able to learn the one you enjoy much quicker.
Maybe a triangle, kazoo or tambourine? These appear to be relatively easy to learn (?)
your voice. Not even just singing, but speech. Speaking in itself can be musical if you know the correct way to speak.
Clapping hands. Learning to clap in time, if you don't have that ability already, can take a bit longer.
