What new tunes should I learn to play?

I'm a solo acoustic guitar player and I have been playing the classic songs I grew up with for as long as I remember. In the last couple of years, I added in some Jack Johnson tunes. I want to expand my repertoire to include some current acoustic music. I particularly like ballad. Can anyone make any recommendations?

You can try "Mediterranean Sundance" by Al Di Meola! However it is not for the faint of heart!

Doubt it's really your style man, but you could look up Erik Mongrain's Air Tap.
Or maybe some Iron and Wine stuff?

Look at some Trace Bundy tunes, generally pretty advanced stuff but sounds awesome. smile

Blackbird by The Beatles is great for acoustic guitar. Also Tears in Heaven by EC and Fast Car by Tracy Chapman are really worth learning.
