What draws us to reality television?
What is the draw for programs like Undercover Boss, Secret Millionaire, etc. Why do we (the public) watch them?
Reality, pure and simple. Or the idea that reality could be so interesting that someone would want to film it.
For example, why did so many people watch The Real World/Road Rules? The Osbournes and Gene Simmons? Or Growing up Gotti? Or Dog the bounty Hunter?
It's because while these people probably richer than us, or at least not likely to encounter us in real life, the idea that they're basically just everyday people makes us feel like our lives could be that interesting.
The Osbournes, when it comes right down to it, are just like any other family. A little dysfunctional, but then meet my family sometime and offer us a two year contract and see what happens. (They did it with John and Kate, so why not mine?)
i have no idea. i don't watch it though i've seen a few minutes of a couple of programs. they seem to be boring, degrading and just plain foolish.

Do you believe as I do that reality television has dummed down America's audience? The majority of reality tv shows are soul less vehicles devoid of any substance other than feeding our national need for voyeurism.

Would you want to star in a reality television show about your personal or work life?Cameras would follow you around 24-7 or at minimum while you are at work and all of your conversations and actions would be caught on film to potentially be shown on tv for the world to see.
