Who wrote the original manuscripts for the Matrix and Terminator movies?

These movies showcase creativity at its finest but those who brought them to the big screen did not create the ideas behind them.

Not sure on The Matrix but James Cameron definitely wrote the script for The Terminator.

Yes, James Cameron gave us Terminator. He co-wrote it with Gale Anne Hurd and William Wisher, Jr.

The Matrix was brought to us by the Wachowski brothers, Larry and Andy.

What I would love to know is who gave their set department the idea to make Neo's passport expire on 9/11/2001!?

Recognize the date? And the movie was released in 1999. How's that for grist for the "Conspiracy Theorists'" mill? America's passport expired on 9/11, so the movie prop was not only quite prophetic, but also intensely symbolic.

What's peculiar is that the prop shows on the screen only for a fraction of a second and upside down. No one would ever read it while watching the movie. Only a movie freak (like me) would ever think to look, but it was someone else's idea that prompted me to check it out. Sure enough, there it was.
