   Why are we so obsessed with celebrities.
   
   I have always found it fascinating that people are so obsessed with celebrities whether it's the clothes they wear of its the person they're dating or the movies they're in. Why are we all so obsessed with celebrities from young people to much older people?

   Not we, all people aren't obsessed, but some are obsessed by celebrities.  I would guess that it is because some people find it difficult to think for themselves,
   and so are carried along on the wave of fervour that is wipped up by the media spin doctors, who try to get us to believe that everything celebrities think and do, is so much more important than our own thoughts and actions.

   We know "some people" follow them because that's the attention they want to have or the lifestyle. If you position yourself with the right people, have the right personality, and do your craft with passion it should come together. Anytime I have seen one in person I was amazed they didn't have 3 heads, just normal people really nothing staggering on the outside which may be a reason reality TV shows have become a hit because people are just fascinated with anyone who is a regular on TV or in movies.

   The ones I actually had a chance to meet in person are ones I have admired since my childhood. Obsession?  Maybe, but I am inspired a great deal by all the things they have accomplished over the years, the people they have worked with, the places they have seen and yet they are super friendly wanting to hear whatever their fans have to say. They truly appreciate every one of them. But they are actors/actresses so an act and reality could look very much the same. Everyone needs to break free from reality every once in awhile. Writers and actors have a common bond.

   I think the media are more obsessed than ordinary people.  I've picked up a newspaper many times to find silly celebrities on the front page because they're getting divorced or something equally boring, and then find that serious national issues or someone being murdered has been pushed well into the newspaper - this says to me that the dumb celebrities are thought of as bigger news items than what's going on in the world - now to me personally that sucks!
