    The only 2014 movies I've seen all year are Oculus and Edge of Tomorrow. And I love both of them. :{

    I still need to see Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6, Interstellar, both the new Planet of the Apes movies, X-Men: Days of Future Past, How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Wind Rises, Snowpiercer...good Lord, my wallet hurts just thinking about it.

      Oculus is a straight-up horror film that blurs the line between what is real and what is imagined. Not only is it downright scary, it's also very ambiguous as to whether there's a supernatural element or if the characters are just plain crazy.

      As for Edge of Tomorrow, it's a sci-fi action film that is basically Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers. The characters and setting are great, the story is well-handled, and there's even a few really funny jokes thrown in there.

    Probably would say my favorite was Gone Girl. If that's still in a theater near you, then I'd recommend it. I'm quite looking forward to seeing Interstellar soon.

      It definitely wasn't Godzilla.

    By "year" I suppose you mean 2014, so I'm going to go with that.
    My favourites of the year are
    Guardians of the Galaxy
    Interstellar
    The Equalizer
    The Judge
    Gone Girl
    Captain America; Winter Soldier
    The Purge; Anarchy
    Edge of Tomorrow
    The Best of Me.

    As for the movies this year, Taken 3 was good, but I personally found the previous two installments to be better. It was still worth the watch though.

      Nice selection of movies. I haven't seen Gone Girl yet but it's on my list of movies to see. Thanks!
