What is your favourite Beatles song?

Personally, as a modern age Beatles fan, I think "Day Tripper" and "Let it Be" are some of their greates tunes. So, "Day Tripper" is my favourite amongst favourites.

    What about you?

My favorite is "When I'm 65." Why? Well, it reminds me of what I am going to get when I hit 65. The lyrics is "Will you forget me...when I'm 65" is a sobering reality for some folks when they get old.

They have so much great music, I can't pin any singular tune down. I much prefer their earlier music.

And I gues, "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is a favorite, too.

With The Beatles it can't be simply ONE song!

      Misery

      I Fell In Love
      Nowhere Man
      Here, There & Everywhere
      Cry For No One

      Good Night
      Don't Let Me Down

Strictly speaking, 'Imagine' and 'My Sweet Lord' are not Beatles songs, as they are songs that were recorded after the Beatles broke up.

Such nitpicking aside, some of my favourites include:

    This Boy
    Nowhere Man
    Strawberry Fields Forever
    Yes It Is
    Run For Your Life
While My Guitar Gently Weeps (the newly orchestrated demo version from 'Love')

Norwegian Wood, Fly, Black, The Long and winding road, Know what this question is not even close to being fair...there are just to many, But without a doubt one of the greatest song writers in the world. Most of their songs revolved around mostly Love. And that to me is more than most bands have done.
Especially the Stones which to my surprise are for the most part still living> Unbelievable.

This is way too hard -- too many great ones to pick just one.

How about breaking it down by some kind of category.

    Favorite happy/upbeat Beatles song
    Favorite ballad/romantic song
    Favorite exotic, groundbreaking song
Favorite novelty song (if you like the novelty songs -- or if you don't say so)

I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard "Rubber Soul." It thrilled me in a dark, dark way. Look at the titles and try not to feel John's penetrating gaze looking into your soul. And I was a "little girl" (of 8) when this came out!! *shiver*

    Drive My Car
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
    You Won't See Me
    Nowhere Man
    Think For Yourself
    Michelle
    What Goes On
    Girl
    I'm Looking Through You
    In My Life
    Wait
    If I Needed Someone
    Run For Your Life

As a Beatles maniac, I couldn't possibly pick a favorite song of theirs but at the end of the album Abbey Road there is a short ditty sung by Paul McCartney which is a bit of a laugh.

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl but she doesn't have a lot to say.
Her majesty's a pretty nice girl and she lives from day to day.
I wanna tell her that I love her a lot but I gotta have a belly full of wine.

it was written during the civil rights struggles in 1968.

the tapping sound is an intentional scratch on the master.

guitar was inspired by Bach's Bouree in E minor originally played with a lute.
