only two me and my girl, just a living relationship, no marriage
I have a dysfunctional family, a set of parents and one sister no brothers. Dad recently past away. My family has always been separated, never really close. Everyone has their own issues and nobody wants to talk. Everybody just wants to keep to themselves and live in their own world.

I come from a pretty large family. There are 5 girls, no boys. Lots of arguing, fighting over the bathroom, and manicures.
All in all we are close. Some are overly dramatic and dysfunctional, but we're family.
Growing up I had two parents and two sisters. I still have them of course, but being single means you are always kind of on your own in a way. Some single people I know do not want to do things with their siblings families because they say it is "taging along" with someone else's family, but I enjoy spending time with my sister and her kids.
I grew up a middle child. I have a sister who is 13 years older and a brother 2 years younger. My parents died 13 months apart in the early 80's. I'd say we were the typical 60's - 70's family.
I was the oldest. I have a younger brother 20, and a younger sister 18. My family makes the Osbournes look Amish. They are crazy and hilarious. Everyone who meets us says we should be on tv. My parents have been married for 22 years.
My familly has five crazy, fantastic, loving, different people.
I'm the youngest of four. We've had our share of dramas, but we're still a family.
International globetrotter one!
Parents and brothers live in different countries and grandma in another continent. Husband comes from one country and my children were born in a different one! Too much of a puzzle?
I grew up the middle child with an older sister and younger brother, five years between each of us. It was a traditional mother/father and three kids family, and we had lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins who added to the "family experience". I was fortunate in having a strong, solid, family. My parents weren't wealthy, but we had "everything". I've tried to give my own three kids that same kind of sense of solidness.
My mom was 40 when I was born and my dad was closer to 50. Bad thing was I barely even knew any of my grandparents, cousins were all much older than me, and aunts and uncles all passed before I even hit my 20's. My mom and dad are gone now, so it's just me my 3 kids!
My family is crazy lol many of them are big business owners and others are dirt poor just depends on which of the 5 side of the family I got to... Divorce blows.
Lots of us - my parents, first marriage, to each other, going strong, my sisters, brother, two uncles, one aunt-in-law, one other half, one son, one brother-in-law.
The above all tend to gather at Easter, Christmas and in the summer at my parents' house for a few days each time.
I have a big family, open family, fun family. From divorced parents but all is good, three siblings, I am the baby, well, I have a twin sister that is my best friend but I am the youngest by 5 minutes I am a lucky girl
Unfortunately my parents are not alive. I lived with them till their last days.
Now I have a small family. i love my wife and my child.
Thanks,
Jyoti Kothari
I don't come from a family. I come from a pack.
A six-pack. Three are idiots.
There ya go. The family frogdropping
you are cracking me up!!! Funny and I love it
Five brothers
Three sisters
I arrived in the middle ,after all the boys
I have one sister born the same year as me, my father who lives in Brisbane and the best thing of all is I made peace with my Mother a few weeks ago, who I thought did not care about me at all. It has been four years since we spoke. I went and saw her last week and hopefully this may be a new start for years missed.
Absolutely fabulous blonde - I hope everything rights itself. Everyone deserves a great relationship with their mum/mom/ma
Unfortunately I'm incredibly tired of my ill-spirited mother and prefer A)the distance and B)the fact that I'm out of her will.
And welcome back, BP! If you encounter ALL of the posts "missing you" for a while there, you may die from the Blush Factor!
Loud Italian family. Mom and Dad (accents and all), one younger brother and sister. I'm the older sibling. We were all close in age. Our family is a cross between "Roseanne" and the "Sopranos". Lot's of fun! Our children are all close in age as well. Tight knit still - just the way I like it. We have each other's back at any given time. Consider myself very lucky :-)
I can describe my family alliteratively- large, loud, loony, and loveable.
I have no idea how I ended up with a "normal" family: one husband, one daughter, one son, one dog, one cat, a picket fence, music and dance lessons, and soccer games.
(Oh, wait. But we're all sci-fi and comic book fans. There goes normality!)
Eldest of 3, I have a younger sister and brother. My parents live in Malaysia.
My father has 17, yes you read correctly, seventeen sibilings ~ 10 brothers and 7 sisters so I have 10 uncles and 7 aunts. (They didn't have TV during the days of my grandfather).
Suffice to say, I have a huge number of cousins around 40 and hundreds of nephews and nieces (some of whom I've never met before) spread across the globe ~ Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, NZ, UK, Canada and US. I have 2 Irish aunts and some half Irish cousins and some half Dutch nephews and nieces. Let's not talk about organising family reunions!
I live with my mom dad and 2 brothers.ours is a small happy family
I live with my mom and 6 other woman right now. But I got a sister and a brother, and three blind mice....lol
I am the oldest of 5 children. My parents are still married.
My wife and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary in June of this year. We have 8 children ranging in age from 24 - 5. We have 6 boys and 2 girls and they have kept us busy over those years!
While ours may not be the "common" family today,... it works for us and we're VERY happy together.
We are a family of four: mother, father, elder brother and me. Though I don't live with them for more than three years, I like to visit them at holidays and on week-ends, we have a lot of fun together. And soon I'm going to have a family on my own.
I grew up middle child only girl btween two brother. Now I am currently a married/seperated and seeking divorced mommy living at home with said younger brother and parents becuase of a pending lawsuit from previous homeowners curtosy of one ex husband. lol. So i think we would currently fall into the whole extended family? Not too sure what it is... it's good times though
I have a really tightly knit family. My parents have been married for 40 years. My father has 3 kids from a previous marriage, and I have a brother and sister. My half brothers and sister have kids that are around my same age. My family is huge and very dramatic. Everyone is very close and it seems, at times, that everyone is in everyone else's business. It is annoying sometimes, but most of the time it is very comforting to know that someone will always be there.
My family, in this country, consist of two younger sister, mom & dad, who just celebrated their 60th anniversary, my 3 children, and we are functionally, disfunctional.
I have a big family with many brothers and sisters but my real family is my mother only!

My theory is that most people seem to like whatever place they've ended up with among their siblings. Most also do seem to have a few minor gripes about it. Without considering anything you've ever read in books about birth order, what's your own personal take on your own place in the...

Who's smarter the first born or the second born (or the third or forth)?I always hear, the first born child is smarter because they have more attention from the parents.... or the second born is smarter because of the older brother/sister, etc... So what do you believe? Are the first born children...

Regarding birth order relationships, why are oldest siblings the giving, more independent, conscientious, & responsible; middle siblings floating in & out, being the familial chameleon; & the youngest being the most selfish, happiest, freest, & most irresponsible of...

I was born and raised in one area and then after getting married have lived most of my life far away from my siblings. It has been hard to keep the relationship going, although it really was never that close to begin with - how about yours?

What is it like to be raise by ur big brother or sister rather then ur parents? We do here story like this, the big bro or big sis got big age gap with their younger bro or sis and after the parents died, the big bro or sis raise the kid, who is maybe only still 4, 5 or 6 years old. For example, pop...
