    We first compiled a list of names we liked. Then, we researched the meanings.  If the meanings were "weak" or not "life-giving", we dropped them.  For example, one name we both particularly liked has the meaning, "barren wasteland".... Er, umm, no thank you!  That particular child now has a name which means "fountain of/source of/Father's joy" -- Abigail.  I won't bore you with the particulars of my other 4 children's names.  smile
    I also like family names.

    With my third child we wanted a name that was biblical and not extremely popular.

    My daughter has my middle name.
