The Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. When the leaves turn it is breath taking.

JThomp stole my answer! smile It is the absolute best place. Just outside of Boone, NC drive the parkway, usually mid October. Gorgeous!

Since life in Georgia, we go to the mountains in our state. It is very beautiful in the fall.

Plan now for your singles or family tours of Autumn Wonder. Many state and national parks are free access and one autumn train ride for leaf-peeping in New Hampshire may be exactly what you want. Even California offers deciduous forests that change color dramatically in parks that the public saved from closure with their donations and volunteer efforts. read more

Letchworth State Park in upstate New York.  Absolutely breathtaking.
Worth the effort to get there if you've never visited: camping, hiking, falls, canyon, picnic grounds.  One of my favorite places in the whole big wide world. smile

We live in Alabama close to the Tenessee Border, so we do not have to go far, it is all around us.
