What advice would YOU give to parents of single-only children to foster their independence,
self-confidence, and fearlessness when their children encounter the outside world of school, friends, and ultimately, adulthood, careers, and life skills?
Make sure you don't think of them as just a small adult. Remember they are a child who needs limits and interaction with other children near their own age. They also need some time to entertain or educate themselves. Don't plan every minute of the day for them. Let them use their imagination.
Children should play and observe on their own and figure out things wile on their own parents should be there for hem but with certain limits. The help of a parent influences a child's self-esteem and confidence as they go along. In due time it all works for child and parent.
