What are your thoughts on corporal punishment for children and its effectiveness?
Does there seem to be any correlation between age of the children and the effectiveness of this type of punishment? I was an avid believer in this type of behavior modification in children for years. I haven't "spanked" one of my children in 7-8 years.
in medical studies, children who are spanked have been shown to have slower mental development, higher likelihood of anxiety, depression and delinquency and when they grow up are more likely to be obese and have cardiovascular disease and arthritis.
