Does any have a Hurricane Katrina story? Did you live through the storm? Were you relocated? Did you help an evacuee? Tell us your story?
I worked in an outreach project 6 months after Katrina in the Northeast Texas area for relocated survivors. You don't want to hear some of the stories I heard. They are too horrible. The rumors you heard about what happened inside the Superdome and Convention center were true, some worse, even though local authorities tried to cover it up. Someone said they only found 1 murdered person in the Superdome. Bull#@%&*(*&^%!!!! If it is taboo, I heard it. I questioned whether the survivors were telling me the truth, but when I kept getting the same stories over and over again, I knew, to my own horror, it was true. So, I'm sorry, I cannot tell you what I know at this time. I just hope and pray that the innocent little children who witnessed the tragedy are doing okay.
