Black Forest Coffee Recipe and More

Updated on November 2, 2011

Cup of Coffee

Can you stop with one cup of coffee?
Can you stop with one cup of coffee?

Coffee Is No Longer One Flavor

Remember the day when you ordered a cup of coffee and that is just what it was. Fresh ground brewed coffee or if you weren’t so lucky, instant coffee. Not that the taste of instant coffee is bad, but it doesn’t compare to home brewed coffee.

Back in the day, here was no such thing as a Starbucks or any other place serving gourmet flavored coffee. Coffee came in one flavor. But that is a thing of the past. This rich hot and even cold beverage can be made and bought in a wide assortment of flavors. It can be so disguised, that you wouldn’t even know it was coffee.

Below I will share with you a recipe for Black Forest Coffee along with a couple other recipes.

Spiced Orange Zest Coffee

6 Cloves

6 Julienne slices orange zest

3/4 Cup Brown sugar, firmly packed

3 Cinnamon sticks

6 Tablespoons ground Coffee

6 Cups water

In a large saucepan, heat the water with the brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves over moderately high heat until the mixture is hot. But do not let it boil.

Add the coffee, bring the mixture to a boil, and boil it, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes. Strain the coffee through a fine sieve and serve in coffee cups with the orange zest.

I love coffee. It's one of my guilty pleasures. :) And the black forest one sounds amazing! I don't like milk in my coffee, so not so keen on the mocha one, but I think I can cope with a little cream on top of my black coffee and some chocolate and cherries. Thanks. Voted up.

Love good coffee. I don't often miss the cow milk products that I am allergic to, but when I see recipes like this...mmmm-hmmm.

Funny vid...too bad coffee isn't really that powerful. :)

Half-and-half is half cream and half milk. You can buy it that way.

Love the sound of the Black Forest coffee! The mocha sounds great too. What is "half-and-half"?

      Thanks for sharing.

I'm a coffee snob/addict so I've bookmarked this, of course!

I drink coffee incessantly, and probably end up going through at least a pot a day on average. Just love it. And it's true there are many more ways to have it nowadays than just the traditional way. A very simple coffee drink my wife very much enjoys is just one packet of Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix and a cup of coffee. It's basically hot chocolate, but it's got that caffeine kick and actually does taste better than making hot chocolate with just hot water.
