Hassel back Potato Recipe

Updated on August 15, 2016

Ingredients:

Ingredients:

All ingredients are as per requirement. I am going to make it with one potato.

  1. Potato: 1
  2. Olive Oil: 1 Tbsp.
  3. Butter : 1 oz or 3o grams
  4. Salt: to taste.
  5. Aluminum Foil: As per requirement. Big enough to cover potato.
  6. Sour cream or Ketch up.

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 420 F.
  2. Now take the potato and wash it well under the running water.
  3. Take a fork and pork hole in potatoes. Make 7 or 8 good holes in the potato.
  4. Now coat the potato with the olive oil.
  5. Wrap in Aluminum foil.
  6. Put it in a baking tray.
  7. Cook for an hour or till the potatoes are soft.
  8. Now take the potato out and take the aluminum foil off potato.
  9. Now slice the potato in to thin slices but make sure that you slice it only till ¾ th so all the slices are united at the bottom.
  10. Now in microwave melt the butter.
  11. Put little bit of melted butter in between the slices.
  12. Now put the potato back in baking tray and put it in oven.
  13. Bake till the desired crispness is achieved.
  14. Remove from the oven.
  15. Sprinkle salt over the potato.
  16. Now you can serve it with ketch up or also can serve it with sour cream.

Voted up and useful. I really think potatoes are underrated as a main ingredient so I like recipes that feature the humble spud.

The potatoes crisped up a treat with the olive oil Indian chef, in fact at my family's request we are having them for supper again tonight. I'll try some other variations maybe with cracked black pepper and parmesan crust. Thanks again.

This is very simple, but very good. I have seen potatoes cut like that, but have never actually tried it. After seeing this, I'm going to try it out sometime. I always have potatoes on hand. Thanks for sharing this simple recipe with us!

I tried these yesterday- my family loved them. We are not butter fans so I brushed them with olive oil and paprika while baking, sprinkled with salt. Thanks.
