Making your very own magic shell ice cream topping is so easy. It only requires two simple ingredients. The traditional recipe calls for chocolate chips and butter. If you are feeling more adventurous you can try butterscotch, peanut butter chips or white chocolate chips. If you use white chocolate chips you could also add rainbow sprinkles. The possibilities are endless.

Another great thing about making your own ice cream topping at home is that you can make a single serving size or enough for a whole party. The recipe calls for one part oil for two parts chocolate chips. But of course the best part of making your own is that it saves you money.

Putting It All Together

  1. Pour your chocolate chips and butter into a bowl and microwave it for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Then take it out of the microwave and stir.
