My wife has always been a great cook and baker. She has always made home made muffins, banana bread, cookies you name it. I have always taken generous portions to work over the years and shared with my co-workers. One day years ago, we had some banana bread left over for a few more days than should be. Kind of looked funky but I was in a rush so put the last few slices in my lunch bag and off to work I went.

Well later that morning I was busy tending to a task and turned around to see one of my co-workers grimmacing in a great deal of discomfort. He had gone into my lunch bag and snuck out the banana bread behind my back. Knowing what a great baker my wife was, he immediately wolfed down the banana bread before he realized it was fermented and partly moldy inside, hahaha - I still laugh my guts out every time I think of it. I can still see the look on his face of astonishment and utter Gag...Hahahahaha

I tried making Potato Pancakes when I was a newly wed (42 years ago).  We had gotten a blender as a wedding gift.  Blenders had just come out on the market and I had never used one.  I put the potatoes in it to grate them.  They turned to pink mush!  Instead of throwing them out, I decided to cook them anyway.  Big mistake! I must have learned to be a better cook because my husband has stayed with me for 42 years despite the pink potato pancake episode.

I had never made home-made mashed potatoes before and tried to make them... from what I remembered my dad doing.   I, of course, forgot a very important step and ended up completely ruining them.     I forgot to boil them first before I mashed them and added the butter and milk.   Well, without boiling them first, they ended up being sort of slimy and sticky and tasting completely gross.  My boyfriend, my son, and I were the ones that tried to eat it.  But we didn't finish it!   ha-ha.
