I usually get the hiccups when I drink a soda too fast! I believe that the cold temperature of the drink and the fizz action cause your diaphragm to begin to spasm. The diaphragm is a muscle under your lungs and aids in breathing. For a cure hold your breath while expanding your lungs as much as possible ( this will hold your diaphragm still for a few seconds a generally works the first or second try.
