Hi Chitrangada! Thank you. I think presentation is important, too, especially on special occasions. Thanks for sharing my article.

Wow!  You really outdud yourself with all these helpful tips like not packing down the brown sugar, and using aluminum foil on crust.

I must say I'm not a fan of pecans, but your presentation makes this seem delicious.

    Thanks for sharing Chitrangada.

Hi Brenda! The original recipe called for the sugar to be packed, but I was looking for little ways to reduce the calories. It really is delicious, but is very sweet, so a small piece is enough -- usually...

        Maria...
I did understand that, but do you think it cuts that many calories?

When Ron was ill we found out he was a diabetic.
It didn't matter much, because he was going to eat whatever he wanted.
        I honestly don't blame him.

But we did come across brown sugar called Splenda....
I actually love it and still use it today.

We used it in all of our dishes...like his sweet potatoes at xmas or baked beans.

Not sure if it will work for this, but if anyone wants to try it...let me know.

I don't even eat sweet potatoes, but with this sugar I absolutely did.

I would have to measure, then compare the difference in the amounts between packed and not packed to say for sure. White granulated sugar has 16 calories per teaspoon, while brown sugar has 17 / teaspoon. There are a lot of teaspoons in that measuring cup -- grin. To my way of thinking, every little bit of sugar I can remove is a good thing, particularly because sugar causes inflammation. I guess I'd better get out my measuring cups and work on my math. You have intrigued me with your question.

Hello Maria, the pecan pie looks absolutely delicious. I have to pin your recipe onto my Pinterest board. By the way, I have a similar pie pan to your grandmother's. I got it from my mother-in-law. I think it is pretty old too judging from its looks but, it still works tremendously when I'm making pie smile

Thanks to Chitra for sharing the article here. Have a nice day for both of you lovely ladies.

Hi Lizmalay! I'm so glad you liked my recipe enough to pin it -- thank you. I haven't used Pinterest in a long time. I need to get back to it soon. Those old pie pans were very popular, and probably still are.
