Well, Peggy, I am sure the cat food would have been appealing and tasty, which is why the colonel gobbled it up so fast; thanks for sharing this funny, light story to start my day.

    THanks, John, for sharing.

This is an interesting story and an amusing look at your family's past, Peggy. The colonel must have loved the cat food, since he nearly emptied the dish!

Thank you for sharing Peggy's article, John.

You are welcome, Peg. It made me laugh too. When I read the title I thought it was going to be about Colonel Sanders of KFC fame.

This is a very interesting humor story about a Colonel swallowing cat food. I didn't anticipate the end of the story. So it was enjoyable as well. Thanks for sharing, Peggy.

Thanks, John, for sharing Peggy's funny true story.

This is a humorous story, Peggy. The cat food must have tasted good, maybe after a cocktail or two. I think it was smart to keep it a secret. I enjoyed reading your story.

Thanks for posting Peggy's story John.

    Hi Linda,

I had to relate this story in the correct context, thus my family history.  My parents worked hard, but also had a lot of fun.  Our home was always open to our friends and family at a moment's notice.

    Hi John,

The colonel in this story was definitely not the one of KFC fame.  Ha!

    Such a cute story, Peggy.

I can just imagine the look on her face when she saw him eating those cat morsels...
Best to keep quiet indeed...especially since he wasn't complaining.

    Thanks for sharing this one.

I enjoyed the catfood tale.  Glad it wasn't wet food he was grabbing.

    Hi Brenda,

I agree that since it was too late to stop him from almost finishing the dish, her silence at the time was the best option.  Am sure it would have been embarrassing for him to know what he had eaten with such apparent relish.  Haha!
