So who here is a night owl? If so, how come you stay up so late? I'm usually in bed by about 2am at the latest, but since I'm working a temporary stint overnight, I'm up all night on my days off.
Me! Though it is not night time here right now, but 9.30am. Usually I stay up till about 1am, though. I've always been a bit of a night owl and I am not a fan of mornings!
Me! I'm a real night owl! It's 4:41 am here. I have to sleep in "shifts" because of my back.
Wow, you two really are night owls...1am pales in comparison! How many hours sleep do you actually get?
Well, lately it's been like this.. I get about 3 hours one day, 1 hour the next day, 13 the next day, back to 1 hour, etc. It's caused by recent personal stress (laid off, loss of home, etc) and my backwards working schedule.. since I'm working overnights now at a temporary job until I get back on my feet and continue my professional job.
I used to work in a pub and get home pretty late sometimes. I'd be really shattered, then not be able to sleep because my mind was still busy, so then end up awake for ages.
That's understandable! A lot of times when I get home I'm not even tired, even though my body and mind are telling me to go to sleep. Sometimes it just takes a while to settle down and finally sleep.
Right now? I work overnight at a retail store unloading trucks by hand.. it's a major retailer, so they shove as much as they can into trucks without pallets to save money, and stock shelves and such. My professional job is being an electrical designer, which I worked on high and low voltage systems at an engineering firm. I tell you, it's quite the change. Something should turn up eventually.
I don't sleep nights because I am a writer (you've heard how eccentric we are?) and I get much more done at night when it is quiet and the phone doesn't ring, and no one comes to the door. I have always preferred to be up nights, from the time I was a teen on. I don't seem to require much sleep, not as much as most, and get away with anywhere from2-4 hours. Tho once a week or so I do end up sleeping a full 8 to 10.
I stay up quite late sometimes and I've often been known to hub well into the early morning hours and then go to bed about 8am, but since I work from home I don't have to get up to go anywhere, although sometimes I take the kids to school and I forget I have to and end up dragging myself out of bed to take them with scruffy hair and red eyes, I'm sure the teachers must think I'm a smack head!
I used to be but as I am getting old I tend to go to bed early... lol
When I'm in college I'm a night owl that doesn't get any sleep and when I'm home I'm a day hawk.
Since I retired.....me me me! But before that, never. I use to get up by 4am and in bed by 10pm.
I'm a night person. I get better rest when I'm not on the "business day schedule." I don't manage to sleep at
"normal times" (a.k.a. "business time schedule") 'cos I can't GET to sleep around 8pm-12pm very often, even if I intend on going to bed and sleeping at this time...so I quit trying to do that several months ago.
I wrote a hub about Night owls. I use to be a lot worse than I am now.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?I've always been an early bird. There's just something I've always enjoyed about waking up before daylight and witnessing a sunrise. How about you? Why are you a night owl or early bird?

Are you an "early bird" or a "night owl"?If you didn't have anything else (like a job) making you get up at a certain time, when would you get up/go to bed? And do you think creative people tend to be more early birds or night owls?

I went and signed up on Facebook and now I don't know who is who. I am sure that there are people who I am a fan of but their real name is not the same as their user name here. So I would just like to know if people who are on Facebook and Hubpages might like to post their names so that your fans...
