   A California congresswoman is pointing the finger at white supremacist groups, who she says have inspired Arizona's new law cracking down on illegal immigrants.
   
   Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., told a Democratic Club on Tuesday that white supremacist groups are influencing lawmakers to adopt laws that will lead to discrimination.
   
   "There's a concerted effort behind promoting these kinds of laws on a state-by-state basis by people who have ties to white supremacy groups," said the lawmaker, who is of Mexican descent. "It's been documented. It's not mainstream politics."

   Sanchez said front organizations for white supremacist groups are approaching lawmakers to propose the language to the bills and urging them to push them through state legislatures in an effort to legalize discrimination.
   
   "It creates a Jim Crow system where based on the color of your skin you could be treated as a second-class citizen or harassed based on how you look," she said.
   
   The Arizona law, which makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally, requires police enforcing any other law to question people about their immigration status if there is "reasonable suspicion" that they are in the country illegally.
   
   Supporters of the law say it will save taxpayer money and reduce crime by pressuring illegal immigrants to self-deport. But critics say the law is unconstitutional and promotes racial profiling.
   
   Rep. Gary Miller, R-Calif., told the Whittier Daily News, which first reported the story, that Sanchez's comments are "an outrageous accusation."
   
   "It's trying to find somebody somewhere you can accuse of something," Miller told the newspaper. "It's red herring. (She's) trying to change the debate from what the law says."
   
   A spokesman for Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who will meet with President Obama Thursday to discuss immigration and border security, also criticized Sanchez's comments.
   
   "Gov. Brewer signed S.B. 1070 because it mirrors what is already federal law and because our federal government has failed to secure our international border, leading to Arizona become a super highway of illegal drug and human trafficking," Brewer spokesman Paul Senseman said in an e-mail to the newspaper.
   
   Sanchez told the newspaper after her speech that she based her accusation on online stories, particularly a blog written by Andrea Nill, an immigration researcher for ThinkProgress, an offshoot of the liberal Center for American Progress Action Fund.
   
   Nill wrote that the Immigration Law Reform Institute, the legal arm of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), helped write the law. The Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled FAIR a hate group, a designation that the organization disputes.

   Mason, when you couple this law with the Arizona law passed banning ethnic studies curriculum it definitely points to a racist thread.
   
   FAIR is a racist organization, as is John Tanton..
   
   Anyone or anything connected to Tanton and Tancredo needs to be thoroughly investigated....
   
   And anyone or any entity who in any way supports ideas like those expressed in "Camp of the Saints" (a book published with the great assistance of Tanton) needs to be seriously reviewed.
   
   Mason, I have received the FAIR mailers here at home...the "surveys"/donation flyers...and I have done research on them... I have a hub online here dealing with all of this..
   
   But, I am not surprised that such a posting would come from you.

      What it shows is a resolve in that state and among the people of that state to cease a problem and an intrusion which is crippling thier state.
      
      The left can try to twist it all they want.... ILLEGAL immigration is killing Arizona and many other states and the fed. And to allow someone to teach in your school who cannot speak the language fluently, or has an out-right hatred for the USA and your state, is absurd.
      
      Any law has the potentail for abuse... I just cannot believe you all want to paint the legistlature and law enforcement, and by implication the people of Arizona, as a state full of racists.
      
      Most all LEGAL IMMIGRANTS,... all that I have seen.... support this law whole heartedly. The only Hispanics I know of upset about this law are the illegals and those who aide them in thier crime.
      
      They, the illegals, do not run this country and we Americans are tired of cowing down to a bunch of people who do respect our laws, nor our country.
      
      We are tired of the left using them as a voting bloc and screwing our elections.... of how the left and right ignore our borders then want to give amnesty to millions every decade... our good will has been pissed on and used up.
      
      AND we have had enough... the ILLEGALS can go HOME!!
      
      I don't care where that is for them... Mexico, Russia, Chechnya, Polan, Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillipines, Afrika.... and damn it even Cuba can get in line from now on,... or anywhere else.

   Or who John Tanton is...or what the "Camp of the Saints" represents.
   
   Remember, you can focus on one law Arizona passed and simply write it off as "trying to solve the immigration problem."
   
   But, when one looks at the several laws passed by the Arizona legislature right around the same time as 1070 another very interesting image emerges...
   
   Why the ban on ethnic studies?  And were they really trying to do away with Asian Studies? Or was it Chicano Studies?
   
   Why pass a law demanding that Barack Obama prove his citizenship to the Arizona government before he can be on the ballot in 2012?
   
   So, when all this nonsense is put together it taints these legislators and their governor as having some very interesting biases.......all against people of color...even the president...
   
   Racism....ethno-centricity run amok.... 
   
   I am not going to compare Arizona to Nazi Germany of the 1930's.....I am actually going to compare their state to the United States in the 1930's....who is responsible for the illegal deportation of American citizens of Mexican origin....
   
   
   I won't compare Arizona's law enforcement to Brown Shirts....I'll just compare them to their American forefathers from the '30's who had no problem with violating constitutional protections.....almost, if not more than, half of those deported in the 1930's (that were of Mexican descent) were American citizens.....and no one cared...Americans stood by and let their countrymen be abused in some of the worst ways....
   
   Germany hadn't started their own deportations yet.....We beat them to it.

    Also, if the court finds that Arizona overstepped its bounds by reaching into federal jurisdiction the law can also be overturned...

       The Cuircut Courts of Appeals, (I believe they include the 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th...), have consistantly found that the Feds and states hold "concurrent", I believe the term is, jurisdiction over thier borders.
       
       And since the law does not conflict with fed law, but mimicks it, it is not in violation. Uniformity is all that is called for... not the surredder of State's Rights to control thier borders.
       
       Az 's law is great... a work of art.
