I hardly (and I mean hardly) ever wear make-up. I wear it maybe 6-10 times a year....

I like the natural look; alot of women 'cake' their make-up on and then you have no idea what they REALLY look like without it....

Not all do.  Those that do--because they want to.

      what is beauty?
Whatever a person finds beautiful is beauty.

what does this mean the beauty is in the eye on the be holder?
Ut means that whatever a person finds beautiful is beauty.

how much time and money is spent with make up?
It depends.  In my case, none.

is it worth having it all on?
It is worth it for the people who do it, or they wouldn't.

why do girls have make up on?
I personally wear makeup to make me feel more comfortable with my appearance. Yeah, sure people always say its what is on the inside that counts, but  it seems we get judged by our appearance more than what is actually on the inside. our personality can be reflected through makeup, if you are a bright bubbly type of person you might wear bright colors. i think the appearance is what attracts people.

      what is beauty?
There are so many definitions of beauty, i believe every thing on this earth is beautiful, why would god waste his time creating an ugly thing?  beauty can be anything from appearance... to personality. its really up to you.

what does this mean the beauty is in the eye on the be holder?
i think it means everyone has their own definition of beautiful. For example when a guy is looking for a girlfriend he might think the girl with more make up on is beautiful compared to the natural looking girl. Where other guys might prefer the natural girl. its all about your own taste.

how much time and money is spent with make up?
it depends. you can buy drug store make up with prices that range from$1---$15 where department store make ups will most likely cost more than that.

is it worth having it all on?
i love having my makeup on, covering up my blemishes and brightening my eyes. i think it is worth it.

I can't answer for everyone, but myself? I enjoy how I look with it on, and without it. It's a fun thing for me, but then I'm lucky enough to have a husband who genuinely seems to have no preference (thinks I'm beautiful either way, big_smile ). As for how much money spent, I generally only replace my staples, and maybe buy one or two "funky" things every couple years?

Makeup, for myself, isn't really about beauty.

Historically, makeup has been used to portray the image of whatever was considered most desireable during that time in order to secure a mate/spouse.

Today's modern society shows that real beauty is in confidence, it is in the way a woman carries herself and how a particular man views that.  Thus beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

I actually wear more makeup now than when I was single.  In my mind, I did not want any man to be confused with who I was.  What he saw is what he got.  Now it is about making myself feel good and wanting to look good for him.  He does not ask this of me, he teases me for expressing such views.

Truth be told, my routine consists of a tinted sunscreen to protect my face and hide any 'imperfections', a light dusting of mineral veil to reduce shine, a very light dusting of blush so I don't look like a geisha girl, and lip gloss. The only one of these to occupy my purse is my lip gloss.  When I really want to look nice, I'll play up my eyes but that's for the (very rare) night out.

I spend less than $75 dollars a year on products and that is really stretching it.  When I hear an acquaintence of his compliment him on his 'pick', yeah, it's worth it.  All I need is his approval but I know he feels good hearing other guys compliment him. I won't lie and say I don't feel good, too but I really don't need it.  I want him to be proud of me always and in all ways.

It's like at work, the way an employee dresses is a direct reflection on the owner of the company and nobody wants to hire slobs.  No man wants his bride to be reffered to as the trashy one.  The difference, for most, is how it's worn.  I choose colors that are muted and natural so that I don't look painted on but rather look fresh.  Actually, I wore a more bold shade of red on my lips for our wedding and while he loved it, I wasn't comfortable in it and it showed in how I carried myself.  I have taken it out for special occasions, though and have come to not be as afraid of it.

I stopped wearing all make up a few years back when I got an awful rash - which still comes and goes, but its much better without the makeup - now I don't even think of it and have gotten used to the way I look without.  Freedom!  no keeping track of the mascara or replenishing the lipstick - no stains on my clothing - no worries.  I love it without!

I also never wore makeup tried it once in the teen years never cared for it. Made me feel like my face couldn't breath. But my mom was never a big make-up fan so I guess I just took after her. My sister on the other hand, thinks it is the end all and be all.

It's funny that you said that! You jogged my memory of my junior prom, I had on a forest green dress and my mother did my makeup, even putting on green eyeshadow to match the dress. I felt like a hoar and ran to the bathroom to scrub it off.  I felt bad because I could see the hurt in her eyes but I just couldn't do it.  She always made us late doing her makeup-she wouldn't go out without it and I think that has something to do with why I chose to wear none until recently. LOL

I like makeup and it enhances the beauty. I do not need to wear make up but it is just something that brings my eyes out or  my lips. Makeup in my opinion makes the personality stand out. I mean some women wear make up with different colors and different ways and I think that it explains how they truly feel about themselves on a personality level.

    Why do they do it?

They do it to tempt me and to arouse my senses...

They try to toy with me with harlot shades that bring out the rich colors of their eyes

They paint their lips to spur in my subconscious thoughts of similar body parts which the law does not allow them to expose.

They rouge their cheeks so as to simulate the healthy flowing of blood throughout their nubile bodies.. giving the appearance of good health and breeding potential...

and then, when I offer to buy them a diet coke in exchange for various 'services', I am scorned and depart a broken man back into the recesses of my parents' basement.. back to my computer station...  back to the Star Trek forums where I vent my frustrations with other rejected males of my species.

      "What is beauty?".
It is not so easy to make the final decision for this question. The concept of beauty, in fact, is different from person to person. Anyone can tell you their personal definition of beauty: who they think is beautiful and who isn’t.

Wow ! I thought this thread was for ladies only  but we have people who identify as ladies goood going...
I personally haven't worn make for the last ten years. I kind of became so secure in my relationship, that I felt it was more important to keep my mind well updated, conversation flowing, to be caring and helpful, to keep things happening. I don't have any thing against those who ear makeup for I used to like it in my salad days.
I kind of like myself beter now for who I really am.
        Nice thread keep it going!

Well, girls like to do a little make up because it make them look gorgeous and definitely makes them an eye catcher in any parties or gatherings.

Beauty lies within. There are two types of beauty such as external and emotional beauty. External beauty is how you look and your personality whereas emotional beauty is basically your love, care and behavior.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholders means that different people has different opinion about beauty of one.

Well, it is totally dependant on you that how much you want to spend. Today because of e-commerce and incredible discounts available in the market, making purchases became very easy and convenient.
