   Only last month she said she was more likely to become a football star than replace her boss. But in a brutally efficient move driven by bad opinion polls and the approach of a general election, the Labor party dumped Prime Minister Kevin Rudd for his 48-year-old deputy. On Thursday Gillard was sworn in".
   
   So we've dumped Rudd and picked HIS DEPUTY. This is like saying we want a government outsider and then picking another INSIDER.

      I doubt she'll be re-elected. I certainly won't vote for her, or her party. No matter what threats were used against her to force this "midnight execution" of Rudd, she obviously chooses power over principles. That implicates both herself and her party.

      You don't seem clear on the process in Australia.  The party just changed leaders, there hasn't been an election yet. They are just choosing which leader to have prior to the election period.  Replacing the leader with the deputy if an obvious thing for the party to do.

   Wherever women are elevated to the top, it means that society is advanced.
   
   The whole world is wasting half of the manpower by pushing women to back. I expect the next country to follow suit will be USA. Let women rule their countries. And let gender disparity vanish.
   
   Human capabilities should be measured by mental power and not by physical power, in this mechanised world.

   While it is quite clear, the way Julia Gillard became PM was not in the spirit of what it means to be Australian, she has since then, delivered on every level. The mining companies have been placated and adjusted the budget accordingly. She has opened the lines of communication to come to a resolution with the assylum seekers and -- she still lives in a flat not in The Lodge.
   
   If Tony Abbott is the only weapon for the contesting party at the next election, Julia is looking good. Let's hear her out and not because she is the first female PM of this country but because at this point in time she has done exactly what she promised.

      What exactly has Julia delivered on? There is no deal with the mining companies, (all but big3) her so called "building the education revolution" package has seen nothing more than extreme waste and mis-management, $850,000,000.00 to be exact. Her backflip on the environment, with a 150 member assembly for community consensus is a joke. We already have an assembly, it's called the parliament.
