Hey everyone! I've been here at HubPages for 5 days now and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. It's nice to see how quickly I've started to get some followers and a fair few views on my hubs. I'm currently to make even a cent, but luckily I'm enjoying just being a member here and seeing how my hubs grow. I just thought it would be interesting to know when you guys reached your first adsense payout. I know for some people it takes years, but for others it's just a few months. I'm also hoping I can make a few connections in this thread and get to know a few of you.

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Very good luck to you haha smile My figures are looking pretty good at the moment, I got 100 views in total over the last 3 or 4 hours.

My first AdSense payout was before I ever joined this site.  But having Hubs turned into a nice utilization of AdSense.

Welcome to HP!  You'll find that this is indeed a great community.

The time frame that it takes to reach payout is, as you say, quite varied.  I reached my first payout at 3 months, then it was every other month until last month - it looks like I'm finally at a place where I'll receive payment monthly from AdSense.

Wow, it sounds like you've done really well for yourself, congratulations! By any chance do you remember the number of views you were getting within your first week of posting hubs?

I actually have some figures in a notebook somewhere.  I think I started with about 2-4 visits per hub per day.

In this case I'm doing pretty well. After five days i'm getting 5-6 visits per hub per day.

I joined HP in January sometime but didn't start seriously hubbing till about mid-April.

I have a website (link on profile) where I've started keeping track of earnings/views/hub number etc.

It took me two months to get my first payout from HP, but that is only because I spent a lot of time learning SEO and doing keyword research. I also published a large number of hubs during my first two months.

I've read that it takes most people 6 months to a year, but it just varies as to how much time and effort you put into it. The sky is the limit here!

    good luck and welcome big_smile

I started in October 2009 and reached my first payout $100 threshold in May, paid in June, reached again in June, paid out in July.

However, I had about $60 accumulated between October and end of April.

May was the first month I reach $100 threshold in one month, followed by June. wink big_smile

Honestly, it totally depends on the nature of the topics you write about. I started off writing very humorous articles, and so it took me about 18 months to reach payout. Now I write many more articles that answer questions on fertility, gardening, relationships, travel etc etc. I now get payout about every second month, but am so borderline that I reckon any day now I will be on payout every month. Use Adwords (the Google tool) to maximise your potential. I have hubbed about this if you want to look at my list of hubs and find it. Very useful tool.

My clicks are weird, some days i'll get hundreds of pageviews from my various sites and hubs and no clicks, and then other days i'll get like 7 views and 2 clicks!

I've now given up worrying about it.
