100$ Hire Google coupon (need some opinions or facts here!)

   Today I received this coupon to "Hire Google" 100$ on it. It says about hiring someone that works for Google to get more traffic to your website/blog etc. It seems legit, but I am not very knowledgeable in this area. I am not even sure why I got it.
   
   I think basically you hire someone and you split the money with them only if someone clicks ads. (this would obviously make sense cause if they are not getting you traffic then why would you pay them)
   
   The thing I don't understand is , is this a specific member from Google or the company itself?
   
   I would like to take advantage of this if a person can indeed get me a lot of traffic. Of course in turn I would have to pay them and how would that work specifically? I also do not know what percentage. If I made 1.00 on a click what percentage would I pay them.  Perhaps its a variable thing.
   
   
   Sorry this was long, but it could of been longer, if anyone can offer me some insight I would appreciate it cause if I can unleash some potential I will try this. I do not think this is a scam, but not sure how effective this could be for me personally and my adsense.

      I've used the coupon ( I consider it a coupon) a couple of times to learn how to use adwords.  It worked.  Brought me a whole lot of traffic and got a few people to join through my affiliate link.
      
      Once a long while ago when I had no idea about adwords, I spent $50.00 to try it out and ever since then I have received a coupon every few months.  I've used it and did not pay any additional out of pocket money.  Again, it worked.
      
      The value goes down to $75.00 on September 3rd.  I will sit down and use it again but only if it is totally free like the other times I used it.  I haven't decided yet what referral link I want to use this time.

   I got it too-- and thought it was a bit suspect.
   I shredded it, since I do not want to place an ad with Google anyway.
   I did wonder if it REALLY had anything to do with the real Google-- since it was presented as a personal letter from an individual, but did not have an individual name.

   I just Googled "Hire Google"-- and it appears to be a legit Google campaign... but read the details. Seems like it would apply more to people who have their own sites and their own products to sell.

   It's not suspect, it's a mass market campaign by Google to try and get people who earn money as publishers to become advertisers (people who pay for web traffic).
   
   They do this a few times per year.  They'd like you to take the hard earned cash that you earn from them and spend it with them too.

   I got the card recently, too.
   
   I signed up on Adwords to use the coupon and after careful reading, I got all confused.  Basically, what turned me off was that I had to pay all that $100 back to Adwords in order to use it because of one of the options to do pre-pay for campaigns.  Post-pay, it still sounds the same ... you have to pay them for clicks, either way, depending on your budget.  Still CONFUSED! If I don't understand something, I won't mess with it until I do.  So I took myself off of Adwords.

      The first time I tried it and spent $50.00 I was immediately brought to the page to that wanted me to link my credit card and automatically take funds when the ad ran out.  No way, I spent the time to prepay to go through the motions of learning how to use it.
      
      Then Adsense contacted to take a survey after I used it and I told them that if I did not have the choice of paying first I would never had purchased the advertising.
      
      When I received the first $100.00 coupon in the mail I went to use it and I had the choice straight from the get go to prepay.  I created the ad then chose how much I wanted to pay per click.  I chose keywords using the free keyword tool.  If a keyword was selling for $1.25 I'd put $1.76.  I also made the advertising last for choosing my ad to be placed on ONLY Google search engine not on sister engines.  Doing so made my ad last a little bit longer and felt it helped my ad target the audience I wanted to target.
      
      It is hard to absorb but after a few times I understood how to use it.  Just like anything else I need to go through the motions in order to learn.

   So it seems 'hire Google" is just a new take on the free adwords voucher that google likes to send out.
   
   I havent found anything to suggest the OP's statement about an actual google worker assisting you or sharing profits, where did you get that idea? It would be cool if its true - but if your just talking about an AW voucher, that was a hell of leap!
   
   Every comment about why you didnt use the adwords voucher is based on a failure to understand how it works and what is needed from you.
   
   You set daily budgets, you dont have to go over the $100 total voucher, you do not pay back money to google. The activation fee is credited to your campaign.

      I see.  When I sign into my Adwords account, I submit the coupon number into the field and I received $100.00 worth of free advertising.  I was not asked to pay anything.  I feel the coupon is used as a marketing technique to get future paying customers.
      
      I personally would use Adwords again but when it strikes my fancy.  Until then good old fashion Internet Marketing will do.
