0Wouldnt it be wonderful if we were notified by email that us or our hubs had been featured on the front page.
I dont know about you, but I rarely see the front page as I am logged in most of the time, I only know if my hubs have been featured if someone tells me or I see an increase in traffic on some hubs. I then might log out, check and log in again.
This email notification feature would be brilliant for self esteem. What a lovely bonus to the day of the Internet writer!!!
Great idea.
If I might add that LinkedIn details specifically the number of times you and/or profile showed up in searches - very helpful.
I, too, never see the home page.
The discussion page under the groups for LinkedIn has changed to a scroll - where you can just about hop (sound familiar) from one discussion to the next. I like the new format they have developed - speedier and more info too at the same time.
I get enough emails as it is, I don't want to be notified that my hub was on the front page for an hour or less.
0I agree with Whitney. Next you'll want to know when you're on a related hub. It's too much info, that just isn't that important enough for me to keep track of. As, usual, I'd want an opt out button.
So, if none of us ever look at that page, why do we care about it?
:-)
I accidentally discovered that I was "featured" last week, and it did make me wonder if it has ever happened before. I trimmed out all e.mails about things like "someone commented", because I was coming back every time I'd get an e.mail or two that said someone commented. Now, I just see it when I sign in.
I kind of like the idea of being notified if we "make" the featured page, for no real reason other than knowing how often it happens (out of curiosity). It never even occurred to me to think about it until I saw it last week.
As far as "the next thing being..." goes, I don't necessarily think there would be a next thing (and if there were, that might be where the line could be drawn). There's a lot of things that happen that I don't care about, but I think it's kind of neat to see it if you're among the featured Hubbers. Sure, it changes; and I don't think anyone thinks it's more important than it really is - but I'd just kind of neat to know (as long as we already know a lot of stuff we don't really care about knowing...). Either way is fine, but I wouldn't have minded knowing last week (instead of discovering it out of a freak instance of signing out and in again).
Lisa, there's always a next thing. It's human nature to constantly want.

Currently a hub gets featured if it scores 6 or above overall (correct?). Although I understand some of the reasoning behind not showing detailed QAP scores, I think that splitting 'featured' into two:Featured (with a QAP score between six and eight)Featured (with a QAP score eight or over)would...

Do you feel as if "featured hub" ruins your hubpage experience?I have been on HubPages for 6 months now. Since I started, there has been some major changes. "Featured Hub" is one of them. Do you feel that this "feature" to Hubpages takes away from your experience. One...

Re: My Hub https://hubpages.com/literature/The-Hou … -It-for-MeThis hub has been featured for a rather long time. It recently has been marked as Not Featured with a comment that it may have spammy elements. I do not put spammy elements on my Hubs. The notice makes reference to ads. I...

Why would a featured hub not show up on my drop down list of hubs to highlight? If a hub is featured, why would it not show up under my profile to put in the highlighted spot? Thank you for answering.

I added some links to my other related hubs into this hub today which was featured before. Now I can't see most of the content when I access the hub and of course the Featured icon is gone. http://anitasaran.hubpages.com/hub/Shor … d-DialogueThanks!

I seldom write product hubs, and only write them if I use and like the product. I have four hubs like this. They have never been in my list of possible hubs to put in the "Featured" spot on my profile page, although they all have over 85 scores. This makes it even more impossible than it...
