how do you recognise that your a success or failure on Hp's. Is it when your well received in the forum community, is it that other hubbers follow you and leave nice comments on your hubs, or is it only £££ or $$$$ that gives you status and credibility.
For some hubbers, it's both. Despite there being no way of truly validating earnings, several hubbers have a very credible reputation, based (I assume) on their honesty, attitude and other reasons, such as their advice, help offered and diligence.
Of those, one's that spring to mind are Relache, Mark Knowles, Misha, RyanKett, Darkside, Nelle Hoxie. There are others - these are 'off the top of my head' as I type.
Then again, there are hubbers that make little, a middling amount or nothing at all, and yet they're still credited with being popular. Their hubs, attitude, community participation and so on are what appear to be the main contributing factors.
My opinion on it, at least
I suppose you could always take the approach of asking yourself "am I getting what I want (whatever that is) out of the whole HubPages experience?" If the answer's "yes", then that is success.
A lot of people are too fixated on other people's opinions of their success, rather than focusing on what they themselves truly want. Applies to the whole of life really, not just HubPages.
Success: Achieving your goals, whatever they may be. Failure: Getting permanently banned or leaving HubPages in disgrace. Self worth: A surrogate for a real plan.
Off topic WE...but does sarcasm and insult from other hubbers count in.You know what happened a few days ago on this forum and for those who leave on these grounds it is very hard to make a comeback if they take it seriously.
Uma, it's not off topic actually, as far as I am concerned. Lots of hubbers have left for such reasons, and that includes some of the best people.
If someone left for this reason, it would not be in disgrace, and not make them a failure. But it would be the wrong decision. If a certain person does not know how to behave, there are ways to teach them how to behave. In this case, I think we are dealing with someone who is a bit inexperienced, immature, and childish - not someone who truly has bad intentions.
If you have problems, your friends around here will be more than happy to help you deal with that. In the end, overcoming such difficulties can make you a stronger person. Don't let anyone bring you down!
I am an example how to handle insults about my beliefs. It bounces off of me like water off a duck,s back. Do not get discourage and remember to just be love be peace be free. Thank you. Go in peace.
I agree with all that you say WE.And you're right..there are some real good friends here and that's what makes this community worth visiting even when you have loads of work..
I assume someone got upset and left? I missed seeing that.
I'd say that is immaturity and insecurity. NOBODY gets to define how I feel about myself and NOTHING anyone says ever changes how I feel.
I LIKE myself. A lot. Some call that arrogance, some call it elitist. Fine - I am arrogant and elitist in their minds, but again that doesn't touch how *I* feel about myself.
I have a friend who is very insecure. He wants everyone to like him, so he won't disagree with anyone. If he finds himself between tow outspoken people like me who disagree, he just shuts up even when his real feelings are with one of us.
That's a terrible way to live, I think.
I am a success on HP if I say I am a success.

What exactly is self worth? Is it truly defined by words alone, or does one need to see actions accompany those words as well? My self worth fluctuates between empowerment and self destruction; as if comparing the powers of the sweltering sun to the power of pond scum. On days...

I was sitting here taking a break from writing a couple of hubs and really got to thinking about all of the hubbers who are ordinary hubbers but take a lot of time out of their own busy lives to help others here on HubPages. They're the guys and gals that you can always count on to pop in a...

Why do the majority of writers fail on hubpages?
by Tessa Schlesinger 6 years ago
I was quite stunned a week or more ago when someone made a statement on one of my hubs that she had commented twice and I had snubbed her by not replying. Her comment had been particularly flattering, and probably because I've spent a lifetime being flattered by others only to find that they wanted...

Who thinks we should ask to reinstate a page dedicated to locating hubbers by hubber score. Beginning with 100-0.We once had such a page here that made the hubber score much more relevant, and we could at least get a chance to locate the top hubbers who most definitely deserved high praise for...

How do you maintain a positive attitude and not give up on writing at HubPages? With the recent google changes, the virus alerts, and the viewer drops, how can a person stay upbeat and positive writing on here? I am beginning to question this.
