What are your most profitable hubs about?

   I've read there can be a big difference between the traffic you get for a hub and the profit you get from it.  I would have thought the two would go hand in hand.
   
   What kinds of hubs have made you the most money? Product reviews, random stories, or reports on something you researched?
   
   I'm pretty new here and thought it would be interesting to see the different hubs that do and don't generate good profit.

      No, not necessarily.  To make money, you need your readers to click on the ads.  Let's say you write a fascinating Hub on splooshmakers and get thousands of readers - unfortunately, there aren't many companies advertising splooshmakers, so the ads won't be relevant and no one will click on them.  Result - high readership, low clicks.  Another high traffic/low dollars combination is photo Hubs of hot actresses - people who come to drool over pictures aren't interested in buying anything.
      
      
      
      Product reviews have the most potential to earn from Amazon and eBay ads - however there is also big competition in that area and you have to be good at writing marketing copy.

   People tend to be reluctant to disclose that. The reason is that once that is made public, the most profitable hubs tend to be copied one way or the other. Good luck!

   If you take the time to do some searches on HubPages, you'll find Hubs where some site users have chosen to disclose what works for them.
   
   Personally, I don't talk about what specifically works for me as I'm not interested in having my best Hubs ripped off.

   My most successful hubs are about stuff.
   
   Stuff that interests me.
   
   If I tried to do a hub on stuff that interests Relache I wouldn't find myself nearly as successful with it as she is. Because people have an edge when it comes to writing about stuff that they know and are interested in.
   
   That said, there's no advantage in giving the less scrupulous a leg up in having our work imitated.

   I wasn't trying to steal ideas or looking for people to tell me what to write about. I just thought it would be interesting to see what different types of Hubs generated income.  I can see where my post would give a different impression though, so sorry for that.

   The problem isn't necessarily going to be the one that posts such a thread. It will be others who read the thread.
   
   The secret to success isn't an actual secret at all. Write about things that interests you, in the best way that you can. If you do keyword research on the things that interest you (rather than trying to find the most profitable topics) it will help you discover just how big your audience is, and what long tail keyword phrases you should be targeting within your chosen niche.

   Use the Google Keyword Tool. It will tell you exactly what works in terms of advertising dollars.
