I just finished my fiftieth hub. Am I on a harder scoring system now? My profile page hubscore dived today from 97 to 92 in two hours.. Have I done something wrong? All I have done since is comment on a couple of pages, so what changed it so drastically. I have seldom been this low.
My hubpages on my account page at the same time have risen 1 point.

The hub score will vary and alter. You're still in the 90s, so there isn't anything to worry about.

Thank you Whitney05, Your right. It is coming up again. My first thought was that Banjo Patterson's poem may have got flagged for bad language! I appreciate the reassurance.

It's a crazy rollercoaster ride.  I've watched mine plummet like that and I've watched it soar to 99.   Still haven't reached 100 as far as I know.  That's the thing.  Unless you're watching it 24/7 would you ever really know if you had?  But, as we've probably all come to realize it doesn't much matter one way or another in the big scheme of things.

I'm getting a bit discouraged!  Seems like I've been in the 90's forever, and the score only drops with the more hubs I write?  Should I delete hubs that don't have a high number of reads or delete the ones that don't have a score of 70 or above?  What's the answer?  Even the hub scores fluctuate.  One can be an 80 and then as soon as the reads start to decline, the score goes with it?

I'm not sure what the deal is ... I hover between 88 and 94 myself.  I think traffic has something to do with it ... I've been putting links to my hubs on face book and that seems to help...

Also, my "So what if Obama is the Antichrist" is getting regular google traffic. (That was like my second or third hub, and I wrote it mostly because I was getting frustrated with all the fear my friends were feeling and spreading.)

It seems that most activity causes a temporary drop, then a rise ... then, it stabalizes at a slightly higher score. (This post, for example instantly dropped me out of the 90's...)

Thats because I became bored so I gave a thumbs-down to every single one of your Hubs!

      I jest, of course.

I tend not to worry about it - it is satisfying when I creep up to 97, but it seems to make no difference. Unless you are extremely good or extremely prolific, hovering around 90 seems to be perfectly fine. smile

What is wrong with loving ducks? I for one support your right to become intimate with whatever takes your fancy. If you prefer ducks, that is your right. Was it good for you?

          lol

Curse you, Knowles, you stole my joke. mad

There may be a duck-related Hub at some point in the future! Must keep within the adsense TOS. hmm

          Tom Jose:

No panic - there is a time delay of a few days. If your Hubs are full of good, original content, your score will soon rise. Participating in the forums and leaving comments also helps your score. With good keywords, the search engines do not take too long!

Of course, if you give any duck-related abuse to BDazzler, you gain ten bonus points. wink

I do believe it is "graded on a curve," so therefore if you have a score of 95 - you are in the top 95% of hubbers.

Which means that other people can have an effect on your score. smile

I can't tell you how it is scored - otherwise I would have to kill you . sad

Well, I decided to check all the Hub Metrix $$$ on each of my hubs.  If a hub is a month old and has only one $, it's going to be deleted.  However, if it's a popular hub with a high score (i.e. Baby Fat has a score of 81 with 1,056 reads), I'll keep it.  That one made the Best Of HubPages.  I'm going to give each hub a month to perform and then clean house.  Maybe this will boost not only my Writer's score, but cause more readers to read the income-generating hubs more often than those that won't generate anything.  Just a suggestion for everyone, too.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Each hubpage stands alone and your hubberscore matters only if it drops below a certain level which means all your outgoing links are tagged nofollow. 75 is the cutoff I think.

Carrie- Even I have observed that initial traffic increases the scores and later those hubs tend to settle down. In fact I am very happy when I see the progress on some of my hubs which start from 48 to finally end up above 70. I guess it is entirely up to you but personally I would let most of my writings to stay unless they are very controversial or evoking extremely unpleasant response as that is what makes us know the whole of you and what you have to share with us here. Please do reconsider before deleting any hubs. big_smile

Carrie, that really isn't a good idea... Your hub rank isn't dependent solely on your hub scores. There are many factors that determine the hub rank.  Also remember that the estimated revenue is not an approximate view, you may find that some of your hubs with just 1 dollar mark may get more traffic than one with 3 or more.

Good Afternoon All, I'm new here and posted my first hub.(I posted it yesterday). I have a score of 71 and I am wondering if it will go up over time or not and if I should submit it to feedburner or similar service. I'd love to get a higher score. I also wonder if it takes a few days for the search engines to find the posting. Any info, tips or personal recommendations would be welcomed!

    Thank you in advance
    Tom Jose

      Hey Tom -

Sorry I did not respond directly - I was going to leave a comment on your hub (comments add to search engine ranking) but the comments are turned off smile

Excellent hub - very informative, but I am not sure where provincetown is. wink

Hi, I am new too, I just posted my first Hub but I wanted to add more under a similar topic... I think I may be really confused on how this all works.

I do not think there is need for deleting hubs. After all you have done hard work for it. Country... you have rightly advised to wait.
I have observed many times that a particular hub is viewed more for some times and then some another.
