I recently watched a film called OUTRAGE, which is a kind of Documentary about the outing of Gay senators, and those same senators voting record to attempt to deny rights to gays and lesbians in an attempt to hide their sexual identity, and, those who are helping them along the way.
The most interesting news this documentary reguards is Larry Craig, the senator who was arrested for trying to solicit sex from an undercover cop in an airport restroom. Well, apparently, this wasn't the first brushes that Craig had to dodge, dealing with his encounters with men, but, he flat out denies being gay, even though several men have come forward to say otherwise.
The list of current senators, and past senators is certainly interesting, including a former New York City Mayor. Some of which could be seen at various gay bars, and bath-houses in DC. Yet, nobody ever wanted to talk about it. As if there is a huge cover up going on to keep certain senators lifestyles quiet, while these senators continue to pass laws that discriminate against gays. I found it very interesting, sad, and scary.
The main thing that bothers me most is all the lying that is going on. It certainly makes you wonder what else they are lying about. If they can lie so easily about someone not being gay, who, and what else are they trying to protect?
I mean ask yourself, if you knew someone was gay, you go out of your way to make them appear to be straight? Perhaps making up a fake girlfriend that they might be seeing? Or paying someone to Marry them? Even arranging time for them so they can sneak in a quikie, at someone elses expense?
This all reminds me of Rock Hudson, and how Hollywood was so terrified that people would shun him if they knew he was gay, that they got him into an arranged marriage, and ushered him around with some actress on his arm at various events, and claimed that they were dating, even though it was never true.
Why go through all that trouble?
The most interesting is another senator who has had a few short lived marriages, and is suddenly remarried, and on his way to a potential run for the whitehouse in 2012. There are also men in his closet that nobody wants to talk about. What the hell is going on in Washington DC?
This movie will certainly raise some eyebrows, and probably has more closeted americans wetting their pants.
Sounds like "don't ask, don't tell in the Senate and House.
Maybe I should tell someone in the government that I am a senator planning on coming out of the closet, unless of course they set me up with a fake marriage to some hot model, complete with a honeymoon cruise, and a house, along with all the hot tricks I can handle along the way, all paid for with tax payer money.
Then I will promiss not to "tell" anyone. That is until my biography comes out on paperback, and I sell a zillion copies. My secret Life, and who really paid for it. On the back of the book it will say...to the tax payers. Thanks a Lot!
...been goin' on for a long time...people afraid to come out of the closet....some afraid because of their religious beliefs unfortunately....others with some skewed (screwed?) idea that they are hetro...but just like havin' fun on the side cuz they're married and all that and can't figure out how to get out of the lie....etc. etc. etc.
...same game of life...goin' on for eons......
This is a little bit different than fear, and just being afraid to come out of the closet. This is about a group of people using their power to "hide" the identy of a person in power, and getting them to use their own fears of being found out as a way to suppress the freedom of others.
This isn't just about senators being gay. It's the whole republican party idea of their family values platform. their whole sticking to marriage is between a man and a woman law passing, while they prop up and hide the true lives of people who are passing those laws. Passing off gay men as straight family men, because it would look very bad if American's knew the truth. It would certainly crunch their platform, if a bunch of senators came out of the closet all at once.
The question also isn't just about being gay. I'll bet there is a lot of adultry going on. They certainly tried to railroad Clinton over the whole Monica thing, who knows what other senators have that going on. It wouldn't be so bad if these jerks didn't parade this whole...we are better than you platform, when it is so obvious that they are not.
They are passing laws to suppress, while they go out and break their own laws whenever they feel like it. And, not only breaking their own laws, but finding ways to help and cover for others in our government who are getting caught breaking those laws. Senator Craig is a good example of them covering up things, otherwise he would have gone to jail. As, any other gay man who was arrested for what he did at the airport, would have went to jail for, they certainly wouldn't have been treated as well as he was. And, America bought his whole "I'm not Gay" speach.
Senator Craig was then paraded around the media circuit with his wife, to continue to prove that he was not gay, even though many men have come forward to say that they have had sex with him, but the media won't talk about it....Yet they feeded on Clinton and Gary hart as if they were piranas, because of the so-called republicans idea of that is not a good role model of their family values, and, went out of their way to try to sandbag them, while they hid their gay republican buddies in the closet.
Doesn't that sound fishy to you? It certainly does to me.

I know being openly gay, coming out the closet, gay rights etc., seems to be one of the latest fads in today's society. But don't you think at times society as a whole (in particular Hollywood and the music industry since celebrities have the most influence on society) comes to the resuce to pamper...

The US president received an enthusiastic reception from gay supporters at a New York fundraiser, but a few dozen gay rights protesters outside the hotel and a handful of hecklers inside the ballroom where he spoke served as reminders of frustration that he has not done more for their cause.

Can a gay man be attracted to a specific girl, but not women in general, and still be gay, not bi?As a writer, i'm wondering if it's possible for a gay or straight character to be attracted to a person of the gender that opposes their typical sexuality? Like, a gay person to be in love with a...
