Hi all
New to the Hubpage creation business and wanted to ask two questions regards Adsense and Amazon associates. I am sure there is a simple answer but being new to this I am unsure and could do with some clarification.
The questions are . . .
I have activated my adsense account and have an email saying me adsense is acitvated and I will soon see relevant ads appearing in my Hubpages.
I live in Devon England so will the ads be targeted to UK users?
I have also signed up and for the Amazon associates and placed the affiliate code in the relevant box. With myself being based in England do I need to use the .com Amazon associates code (ending in -20) or the .co.uk Amazon associates code (ending in -21) or does it really matter?
Any clarification would be good
Thanks to all
Your English readers will see English ads. Your American ones, American ads. Etc (-:
You'll need to use the .com Amazon codes and have a .com account. Unfortunately hubpages does not currently support the UK affiliate site.
And as for Adsense, these change depending on where your traffic is from. You'll find that by tracking visits in google analytics you'll probably end up with visitors from all over the world.
Hi All
Thanks or the clarification, I use the Amazon Association .com affiliate code in the Amazon afiliate box and it ends in -20, so it looks asif I have that correct.
The adsense.com has been approved and the email says I will soon see relevant ads appearing in my hubpages, so can I assume that is ok to or should I look at adsense .co.uk, or does it not matter?
Advertisements - more or less relevant - automatically appear on your hubs regardless of whether you have an active AdSense account or not. The only difference is that once your account is active, you will receive 60% of the page impressions and all revenue associated with these impressions.

So is it pointless for U.K. residents to even bother with amazon capsules on their hubs?
Its an essential,
So long as Adsense and Amazon is available for you to become an Associate in your respective country. You can enjoy the benefits of potentially earning an associate income.
In other words, although I am an Australian, I benefit from anyone, especially those from Canada, USA, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, et al, buying from the US based Amazon site through my hubs. I earn a commission from each of these sales.
Actually, this has given me an idea for a hub.
Thanks for the info, I have the Amazon .com affilate link / code in the correct box and adsense is active,so I am doing the correct thing.
Hi Jonathan, yes HP's Amazon capsules can *only* be used with a US Amazon affiliate code.
However, if you're also a UK Amazon affiliate you can put one or two links (containing your UK Amazon affiliate code*) on any single hub of yours to items on the UK Amazon site. You can either do it using just the link capsule, or the link capsule plus the photo capsule (with a picture of the relevant item), or even just the photo capsule on its own, which lets you insert a link under the picture. It's clunky, but it works. I've recently started doing this on a few hubs of mine and have so far earned the grand total of £0.40 in commission!
*If you need to find out the syntax to use for the link, there is a forum discussion on this somewhere - you should find it if you do a search for _uk amazon_.
You can also create an astore on your UK account and put the link if the products are relevant in your hub

I've reached out for help numerous times and not a single person told me that I have to get my Amazon links from the Amazon Associates website...
