This has nothing to do with losing traffic over the last few days. I check my pageviews a few times each day and since I've been publishing hubs, that number has increased. However, the amount decreased by one since yesterday.

I didn't delete any old hubs, so that doesn't count toward it. I'm no concerned, just curious and a little confused. I had 408 pageviews total yesterday (overall) and now I'm down to 407.

    Any ideas? Maybe a fluke?

Quite odd.  Can't say I ever experienced this - Are you sure the total wasn't 403 rather than 408... I'm not judging your ability to read numbers lol just thinking of a mistake I, myself, could have made!!

It is possible, I have times where I swear I'm dyslexic, so who knows. I know I saw it at 405 either this morning or yesterday. Now I'm second guessing myself  wink

That is weird.  Perhaps your total number was 406.  Sometimes a 6 can look like an 8 if you're tired or something like that.  Or perhaps you might have accidentally hit "back" on your browser after looking at your statistics.  I'm just guessing here.

Yeah, I may have been tired at the time. I figured it was either a fluke or something I did over here. Sorry for the confusion all.

Your views are not decreasing--- it is a snapshot of a window in a timeline.
Also-- no numbers on HubPages keep ascending on a straight line.
Typical new hubber advice: Don't worry about any of the numbers. They vary by many different factors-- which are not significant in themselves. Keep doing your best, and flush the rest.  Look at your numbers, but two weeks means nothing-- compare your stats at 3 months or 6 or 12.

Thanks Rochelle. I know our authorscore is something I shouldn't worry too much about, as well as karma. I assume pageviews then are just a guesstimate? Sorry for all of the questions. I'm still trying to learn my way around here.

Think of it as a 'guestimate"'. But, really, just take a step back and watch for awhile-- you will learn by doing. and for now things are fine.
Take into consideration-- Holidays: people are busy, traffic may be a bit whacky for awhile. Use whatever time you have to write.. . and look at the FAQ's and "learning center".

Thank you. I've looked around the learning center, just haven't had time to sit down and soak it all in yet.

You'll get there!! Rochelle gave great advice here.  Traffic will increase with time, but it can't be dwelled on when you only have a short time to compare numbers.

Best of luck with everything smile Keep writing!!

I have actually had a negative view (-1) show up in one of the traffic source columns.  I don't know why it happened but it has so I wouldn't be surprised if you were correct and not tired.

google.de very often shows a -1 in my daily stats.  More often than not, I would say.

I've never figured it out, either.

    yeah, i've noticed the same.

1 minute i see that i have recieved for instance 50 views, but then again, 5 minutes later, i have only recieved 45 views, now tell me, that aint right?!

i have a hub, that says total hubviews over a week; 128 views, strange thing tough is, that the daily hub views are above 20, and still in my weekly stats, the number doesn't increase.
