How come Shifa Salaheen can not get approved for Adsense? Poor kid waited patiently for 6 month and now they reject him. Just because he is in Asia? I simply do not get it, I think the kid deserves it, don't you?
oh i think that you may block google adsence... and it happens that time when you open your account again and again and there are also some other reason i am living in asia but they are not blocking it because i am not using it as a spam...
I think he has worked hard for this and has also earned respect here for his politeness in the forums.
I think it would be helpful if when they turn people away repeatedly they gave them examples of why they are doing so. I suppose that will never happen as it is not cost effective.
I hope the matter is resolved soon.
I think it would help people like Shifa if an experienced Hubber/ adsense user could offer to 'mentor' them and check for any TOS they have put in there hubs by genuine mistake.
I am not capable of this and I know it would take up a lot of time, just wondering if it might help if someone volunteered help in situations like this.
I don't suppose this helps but when I got Adsense I had already had a web site of my own set up. It only contained a few pages and was a Free Google Site with no domain name or any other expenses. It had probably been running for a couple of weeks when I applied for Adsense.
Er, but I assume you are in the UK?
It is not that hard for people in the UK to get adsense, either through hubpages, blogger, or a google site.
Google discriminates against people from certain countries. That's just a fact. It is much harder for people from India, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, some African countries, and third world countries to get an adsense account.
Unfortuantly, there is a good reason for adsense to do this, because of fraud by large crime syndicates in those countries.
But it sucks for people like Shifa Salaheen, who are honest and provide good web sites.
Yes I am in the UK. I understand the point about India. My point was simply that it might be easier to set up a quick free web site and try that route, in case that was looked on more kindly by Google.
I agree that it sucks for Saleheen - my impression of him is a decent person, thoroughly deserving of an account.
No, the problem is he would still need to have at least six months worth of age, either on the domain, or if a google site, the sub domain.
They wave that requirement for most people on google sites, but not for people from the above countries.
Mark, Thomas,
People in US, Canada and UK usually do not have problem. I think problem is with India, China and a few other countries like Thomas said. There are always good people who gets in middle like Shifa.
If Google thinks India, China etc are "Third World" countries, they are living in a fool's world.
I think it wouldn't help to split semantic hair - Google has never specified that third world countries are excluded. It just says this
"In some locations, including China and India, we require publishers to have owned their sites for 6 months. We've taken this step to ensure the quality of our advertising network and protect the interests of our advertisers and existing publishers."
Where is it mentioned that third world countries are excluded?
Despite of what many people say - that India, China et al are excluded because of spam - that is not the case. The top 10 spamming countries list is quite a surprising one - India does not even figure in it.
However, I am ashamed to admit as an Indian, India DOES indeed figure very high on countries involved in click fraud - whole rings of people gathered just for clicking on ads.
But you can see a bright spot right in that statement by Google - "we require publishers to have owned their sites for 6 months". It is clear enough what Google wants.
We can make as many indignant protestations as we like, but Google is fully justified in protecting what it deems its interest. If you value/desire an Adsense account, you will have to play by their rules.
@ saleheen,
Shuvo, do you remember the offer Pearldiver made to you on the other thread? If I were you, I would definitely go for it!
Thank you all for being very supportive. Thank you Pam.
I actually have read the terms of service. I am reading it again. Don't worry friends. I will get it someday. I will start thinking about amazon now.
On the positive side, I make ten times as much on Amazon as I do on Adsense, and I'm very small fry. I know people who make over a million dollars a year on Amazon.
It's not the end of the world.
And there is a huge untapped market that has only just opened up on amazon... they added over 200,000 products on 6 december on 15% commissions.
wow, 15% commission would be great. Would we need to reach a threshold to get 15% or for each product it will be 15% and how will I know which product is offering this?
