    I don't, can't remember last time I had one.

Tonight that changes - I'm in bed now. Tucked up, hot drink, fresh pajamas, the lot. I've had to justify it to myself though.

Now why would that be? When we're kids and your parents said 'right, 9pm - BED' it was excuses all the way. I'm laid here and it's awesome. I want to do it more often.

What got me here way earlier than usual was the fact that I lost a tenner this morning and it just ticked me off. That's the second time that's happened in a week, so I'm sulking.

Do you ever turn in way earlier than normal? And what gets you there? Tired, just because you can? Or do you feel guilty first, like I do/did?

    *cozy*

Guilty first, because I keep thinking there are so many things I could be doing.  But after laying there for a little while you realize, those so many things you could be doing, will still be there tomorrow.  Lay back, relax, and enjoy.

Early to bed almost every night.  I read in bed to relax but nothing educational.  Always fiction.  I'm in bed usually by 9pm and read for an hour or so, have an orange as a snack.  For some reason oranges help me sleep.  Right amount of sugar and calcium, I guess.  My problem is I never sleep through the night.  4-5 yours at the most.

Actually I haven't fallen asleep at 9pm in years. An early night for me is 11pm and that is an extreme luxury ..what usually get's me there?? Exhaustion!

I went to bed at 9pm last night. Then I watched Wipeout and Modern Family on my iPad, then I read the Mark Twain autobiography for a while. Then, of course, I woke up at 3am smile

It's dark and gloomy here today, would be a perfect evening to get to bed early!  Unfortunately the baby has other plans for me!  I do miss the days of spending evenings cuddled in bed reading myself to sleep but I don't think I'd trade my time with the lil one for anything!  And soon enough she will be old enough to cuddle in bed with me while I read to her!

Like Sinta Caxe, a dark and gloomy day does it for me. Actually it makes me want to spend my whole day on the couch with my afghan, a cup of hot tea and a book! I'm an extreme early riser -- usually up by 5:00am at the latest, so just about every night is an early one for me!

Go to bed about 1:30 am,  and get about 6 hours or so sleep - I sleep deep & really well.  But I do often have a quick 20 min nap in the early evening, which seems to suit my body's bio-rhythms well.  My wife and kids go to bed early about 9:00, which gives me 4 or 5 hours of quite to work.

Naps are good.  I always try to fight the nap in the early evening thinking it will keep me awake at night.  Perhaps I should give in to it and see what happens.

One thing I have learnt is to listen to your body - its always right.   During my day time job, I am most productive in the mornings and just after lunch, but once I hit 4:00, my brain is good for nothing, so I save all the dead easy jobs for late afternoons - works a treat.

very true.  I haven't been in bed early for quite a while. 9 is definitely early, that's when the last part of the day starts.
If I am in bed by then, it's usually because I'm exhausted or not feeling well.   I do enjoy doing my creative writing very, very late, or very, very early. It's like an entirely different mood for me.

The Chinese say that the useful hours sleep are from 11pm to 5am - and as I live under the tyrannical rule of my Chinese partner I am forced to go to bed by a compromise of 11:30 and I am usually up by 6:00 am.  For good behaviour I get a midday nap of around 1 hour.

After a lifetime of late nights, this is heaven.

There's something about staying up late that I just love.  I don't know what it is.  It's just so peaceful while everyone sleeps and it's dark outside... I love it.

I don't typically go to sleep early, however, I do enjoy going to bed at least an hour before I'm ready to close my eyes.  I like to lay there, read, write or just watch TV.

I agree.. I love to go outside on my patio before I go to bed, and it's so peaceful and beautiful, it's like you can 'hear
the silence.. last night there was a soft rain and misty, it felt ethereal..
