   I am sick of winter!!!  We in New Jersey have just been hit with our 6th winter storm of the season.  Will I make it to work today?  HELL no!
   
   If you care to, check out my hub from winter 2010, Winter Driving Nightmare.  And I thought that was bad!  Time to go put a few thoughts together.  Mother nature, give us a break!

      I went to check the mail, and let me guard down, when I walked up porch steps I almost fell...
      
      If I would of fallen where I was at, i guarantee it would of been ugly..

   This winter has been a bear.  There's been at least one or two snowstorms a week.  I still like snow when it's new because it makes everything so pretty, but digging out is a real hassle.

   Yup. I'm in Connecticut, and we've had over 50 inches in January alone. See this?
   
   
   
   
   This is what my 8 lb. mini dachshund faced yesterday when trying to go out to do her biz BEFORE the 20 additional inches we got last night. The snowpiles on the side of my walk are now close to six feet tall. Sigh...I've had enough...

      Wow!  Ours is bad, but that puts ours to shame LOL.  Right now though, we can't even open our front door because the foot and a half of snow/ice is right against it.

         Funny you should ask... This morning when I went out to try to clear the walk, she went zooming out the door ahead of me, airborne like a flying squirrel, and just landed on the huge mess of new-fallen snow. It was a total Snoopy moment. She was completely stuck, totally unable to move and she just looked at me with her big brown eyes. I'm sure she was saying "WTH?"
         
         When she goes out these days, the sidewalks are just a huge labyrinth for her. She can't see anything but walls of white and she's pretty freaked out by it. I tried walking in the streets with her, as they're pretty wide open, but the salt they throw down on the roads burns her paws.
         
         Let's just say that if I knew what was coming this winter, I would have bought a whole lot of stock in the companies that sell doggie pee pads.

   blah I hate winter. and on top of the snow, oh it is snowing for the third or fourth day now, again....its been soooo cold!! Its a heat wave it it gets up to 20 degrees f. Most mornings its been between 10 and 20 below zero here. I wouldn't mind so much if I did not have to shovel a path to get to the barn to get the wood to warm my house. I cant wait for summer when all you do is throw on some sandals and walk out the door to go places.

      Yes, I find that now that I'm a grown-up, that the snow is for kids!  My favorite seasons are spring and fall.  I can't stand the heat or the cold.  However, it is unthinkable that I should move.  I was born and raised here and I'll die here.

               I love the snow.  As I look out the window at the pristine beauty, not as I walk or drive in it.  And I don't even do snow angels any more!

                  I fully agree.  I do love watching it fall gently to the ground, how it covers the trees and makes the whole world look brand new.  I also like to see it falling under the streetlights.  It gives me an 'other' world feeling

                     Actually, I like to stand quiet in a softly falling snow storm.  It muffles everything - the world is so quiet and beautiful with the big flakes drifting slowly to earth.
                     
                     You are certainly correct - an other world feeling with a street light or bright moon at such a time.  Wonderful, and it makes winter worth enduring just for a few hours like that.

         Yeah, I like the spring, and fall the best too. Winter has bad conditions, and the summer is to hot for me.

            Fall is my all time favorite, as my birthday is 10/10.  I love the weather and changing colors, and even the reminder that soon the trees will become bare once again.
            
            The past 3 or 4 winters, previous to last year, were relatively mild with maybe one snowfall.  The past two have been just a total nightmare.

               Last winter year sucked. A number of power outages which caused 3 tvs to break, and more. This year is sort of bad, but not as bad as last year yet.

                  I hear you.  Last winter, even with less snow storms was the worst in recent memory.  Power outages are the one thing that scares me.  I went without power for 3 days and sucked it up and stayed in my house.  I don't know if I would try that again. 
                  We are now gearing up for round 7 or 8 already, due here next Tuesday into Wednesday.  Haven't heard how much, just that they said 'significant'.  Eeek!

   As a native Vermonter I have seen my share of snow and cold. Too much in fact, which is why I moved to Florida.
   
   No disrespect to those who live up north, but I never saw the point in just "getting through winter" when you don't have to.
   
   Not to say Florida is all that great either. Maybe some other southern state, like Georgia or Alabama. But I'll never live in a cold state again.

      I've never been to Vermont, but I do realize states up that way get a lot more than we get here in NJ.
      
      I guess you could call me a crybaby, but I would not move to another state where I'd have to deal with heat/humidity all the time, not to mention the floods and hurricanes.  And even though I am beginning to hate winter with a passion, I do still love the change of seasons.

         Hi Trish. I go up to Vermont for vacations in the summer and fall. Fall is very pretty up there and about the one month of the year I actually like being up there.
         
         I actually enjoy hot weather and the middle of Florida hardly ever gets hurricanes. But it is getting pretty crowded.

   3 years in a row we had over 100 inches of snow which was more than double our average annual snowfall.  My drive to work was 20 minutes during the summer, but during those three winters I was lucky if I made it in less than an hour.

      Yep, just the other day it took me 1 hour 35 minutes to get to work, which on a normal day, takes maybe 45 to 50 minutes.  It bites!

            Yes is sure is.  This winter is feeling like it's never gonna end, just like last summer with its 95+ temps for weeks on end did.  I want the ordinary seasons back, a little snow, a little heat, not these extremes.

         Yup. At least where I live, we are officially up to something like 56 inches of snow in January alone. It broke the previous record set in 1945. Sheesh...
