I decided to re-write one of my very first hubs on here because I'd made a mess of the optimization of the first one. Imagine my surprise when I nipped over to Amazon to see them using one of my photos on their product!
I'm not objecting - not at all - I often use Amazon's photos without permission. But this was a pretty average photograph of a kiwi plant taken with a cheap Nokia phone.
I feel quite famous now! (and no they didn't give me a link either!)

Chances are it is a seller on Amazon that is using your picture. Many of the items on there that look like they come right from the Amazon warehouse is actually the many sellers on there.

So chances are it was a person who did a search for that item, copied it and is using it to sell on Amazon. smile

It is a seller, and I suggest you contact them.  Chances are they have a blog or website somewhere, you could ask them for a backlink in exchange for the use of your photo.

There's a link on this page to contact them direct.

I'm hesitant to contact them in case they just drop the photo. I'm really quite happy for them to use it - in fact I was tickled pink when I came across it!

If you write and say how thrilled you were to see your photo, I don't see how they could take it the wrong way.

I agree with Marissa. It's easier for them to give you credit and a backlink than to find another photo. Since that much is helpful to you, just ask gracefully and enjoy the result.

That's interesting.  Where was your photo posted for them to find?  Just curious.

Thanks for putting it that way Marisa and Howard. I'll think about writing to them and let you know what happens smile
