Do you believe that God (or any name you call the Supreme Being) always answers your prayers? smile

Yes, although our idea of "answer" is very narrow.  If answers don't look like what we expect or happen within our predetermined time frame, then we assume they are unanswered.

I addressed this very idea back in December in a series I wrote entitled Is That You God: A Prayer Breakdown in Three Acts here:

    It's a fascinating question.

By the way, ripplemaker, I left you a list of the inspiration books you requested on the hub you commented on.  Thanks.

I know that God always hears and answers our prayers.  I understand that, as any good parent will do, the answer is sometimes NO.  He, who has our best interest at heart, knows what is better for us than we do ourselves.  I think that when we start really praying as He has instructed us to pray (His will, not Mine be done), then we will start to NOTICE Him answering more and more in our lives.

Hi Peter, I'll be reading your blogs and your recommended books in a little while. Your title is very intriguing "Is that You God?"  Hey, I like that.  wink

In the Doghouse, I thank you for your encouraging words that got me teary eyed so early in the morning.  I am kinda sentimental when it comes to God, I guess.  Started talking to Him when I was eight and when I had to leave home to study in another city.  I've never stopped since then.

One of the prayers I never could quite fathom was about the getting married thing.  A lot of my prayers have been answered and when it came down to finding the "man," it seems like a "No" and a "Wait" and ... I guess you guys can see the picture.   big_smile  LOL

I totally agree with Doghouse -- just like a good parent, sometimes God has to say "no."

God hears us, and he always answers, even if the answer is letting us know how to solve the problem ourselves.

Helena, thanks for including that insight...yes I too believe that He doesn't spoon feed...but gives us the tools to solve whatever problems we have.

I think that He gives us the perfect example of "parenting." smile

When I pray selflessly for the good of someone without a reward he listen to me otherwise he ignores me.
