We have to pass it to see what's in it! - Pelosi

Well the more we find out about what's in this bill the more we come to realize how bad this really is! No wonder they didn't want anyone to read it! Here it is OUR tax money being funneled to corporations and unions favorable to this administration. No surprise that included in this cesspool is CBS and the Washington Post... I guess we wont be seeing anything critical about this administration in those media outlets! I expect all you libs that have railed about corporate subsidies to react with the same outrage at this! ( not) roll

Obama is just one man.  For his policies to succeed he needs the help of the pit of vipers called congress.  Really you do think short sighted when it comes to change.

Actually Lady, I just wrote a hub about this. The corruption came from both the Dems and the Repubs. But the Repubs want defeat of the Volcker Rule, which stops massive leverage by banks.

But Congressman Sensenbrenner a Republican from Alabama leads the attack on the Vocker Rule. The Republicans know that if they cut government spending massively, they will need another ponzi lending or stock market attack on mainstreet. Wake up Lady.

You may have the beginnings of a new jingle here.

            Liberals are liars
            and Conservatives are crooks.
            Lets gather round them
            and expose the biggest kook!

              Liberals are liars,
              Progressives are crooks,
              The worst thing to happen
              Is America in their hooks.

              They lull clueless lazies,
              Into helpless reliance,
              They kill all incentive,
              And demand all compliance.

              They gull intellectuals,
              Into mindless correctness,
              They fill empty spirits,
              With pride and with meanness.

Your lyrics show you have bought into a two camp mindset.  There is no difference between the two camps whether liberal, conservative, progressive or anything else.

Politics in America is about the money.  The democrats and the republicans want it.  It is their lifes blood.  Why do you think they promote such incredible waste and nepotism within the government?  It surely can't be laden with any common sense.

They keep us pointing fingers at ideology and the resultant issues all the while fleecing us out of trillions of tax dollars.  Nothing in Washington is accomplished without somebody getting paid off.

If you pick on one side then you are a part of the problem and once again the politicians win another battle.

Yeah it does to a point, but it does keep people paying attention nonetheless.

I'm reading THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND for the first time.   Certainly adjusts one's perspective.

Still, anything we can do to bother the elites who own us is a good thing.   We may not always be able to "chatter" freely.

    "THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND"
I have my own theory that fore-running Jekyll Island was the assassination of William McKinley setting the stage. Another lone gunman.

It is extremely sinister.  What about Kennedy, the only president besides Lincoln who dared buck the banking system.

        http://www.john-f-kennedy.net/thefederalreserve.htm

Not exactly a healthy thing to do.

      1. Evan G Rogers profile image60

        ...

lincoln didn't BUCK the banking system. He encouraged it full-heartedly.

In fact, he pumped so much paper money into the economy that the dollar almost lost its worth.

Maybe you were thinking of Jackson? Jackson actually killed the central bank of his time. That's probably the reason why his image is on the $20 - as a constant reminder that Jackson failed, even though he died thinking he won.

        "I killed the bank!"

The banking cartel didn't like what Lincoln did once Jackson killed it.

... So, lincoln paved the way for "official" bank notes. I dunno. That sounds pretty "central bank friendly".

            1. AnnCee profile image68
AnnCeeposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Lincoln was interested in a  monetary system separate from the banks.  He didn't want to borrow money and pay interest.   That is all banks want.  Interest.  They'll kill for interest.   They'll make the taxpayers cough up tax dollars to save companies so they can keep paying interest.  It doesn't matter what else happens, the banking cartel wants interest.   That's the whole point.

              1. Evan G Rogers profile image60
Evan G Rogersposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Lincoln was clearly centralizing the monetary system. That's what central banks want.

The system of private banks competing against one another keeps inflation in check: if one bank inflates their money too much, then people will leave them.

JFK assassination what a great detective story. Met a guy who was on the JFK body guard detail and was taken off duty that morning as many were. He was obsessed with the conspiracy of it.
As I mentioned the other day: 'Plausible Denial', by Mark Lane, names the assassination team run by E. Howard Hunt. Pretty convincing to me.

that was the idea. That was the way that paper money worked in the US for decades at a time.

Those sheets of paper USED to be promises to get gold and silver from the banks in question.

      1. John Holden profile image61
John Holdenposted 13 years agoin reply to this

But they were unfulfillable promises, no bank ever carried enough gold to cover it's liabilities.

and that's why they went bankrupt.

See how that works? Greed is counter-acted by failure and competition.

Sure, there never were 100% reserves, but it was a lot closer to 100% than the 6% (if even) that we have today.

Nope.   It's worth whatever it needs to be worth so long as borrowers keep paying interest.  The human population has no value is the equation.  The government working for the cartel has decided time after time to undermine free enterprise in favor of the cartel.

The banking cartel will do ANYTHING to keep that flow going.

    2. Evan G Rogers profile image60

      That is completely accurate.

But, when the dollar is hyper inflated, I'd rather have gold and silver! -- can't create THAT out of thin air.

Hell, counterfeiting gold costs more than mining it!
