Are you financial enough to help others?

   I saw a plumber the other day filling his big 4WD work vehicle with $150 worth of petrol. I asked him how he liked the high fuel prices, and he said "I don't mind, it is a still a tiny part of my overheads.
   As we were chatting a fellow motorist driving an old worn out car looked through his wallet for enough money to buy a few dollars worth of juice.
   
   I didn't think the plumber had seen the despair on the poor guys face, or even noticed him.
   
   Then to my surprise he excused himself and went over to the guy and told him to fill his car to the brim, and he paid for it with his gold card.
   
   I said "that was very kind of you." he replied that he felt very fortunate and it was only pocket money to him, but having been poor as a kid, he believed in offering a hand where he could.
   I asked for a business card.
   
   The way I see it, at least I will know that some of my outrageous plumbing costs will go to a good cause!
   
   Any others doing well enough to spread a bit of love?

         I'm pretty sure if it wasn't true then Earnest wouldn't have told it in the first person or he would have told us it was a parable.

   It is always nice to hear about people who pay it forward and I see no reason to suggest it is untrue.  I remember once when I had very little money and ended up with more groceries than I could cover, and they guy behind me in the queue paid for the lot.  Since then I have had the chance to do the same for someone else. I have a good income now but I remember how much it sucks not to have enough to fix your car or get decent food.

   Nice story Earnest. Whenever I have extra, which is at times, I have no issue with paying it forward to others, so as to help them.

         I put others before me. Yes, that is what I am about. It no wonder, I barely make ends meet and live a life within poverty levels.
         
         One of the reasons for "Cagsil" in the first place is improve my financial life, while help others to straighten out their life and do the same as me.

   That's a very nice story Earnest. In answer to your question, no, we (my husband and I) are not but we try to help other people whenever we can.

      Yes it doesn't always need to be money does it?
      Good that you help where you can.
      
      It seems to be about having a warm heart. The plumber I posted about looked like a very happy man with a big heart. If he couldn't help with money, he would find another way to help in my opinion.

   Lovely story - just adding my two cents here.
   
   As someone who knows basic SEO and what can be done with info on the net (compared to the average customer at least) I'm always on the lookout for great treatment or service.
   
   When I am surprised by the service (good or bad) I often go and either write some type of online promotion for them or make sure that my complaint is somewhere where people won't just stumble across it.
   
   That's one good thing about the 'net - it's possible to reward someone highly.

      True, I like to leave a positive comment when I get good service online as well, but I have left complaints too.
