Are hubs no longer beginning with a score of 50?

   I've noticed over the past couple of days that the hubs I've published have begun with scores under 50.  Is this a new feature that I am not aware of or an issue that needs to be looked at?

   M2C I tried to comment on your wonderful tribute about Rich but there's no comment capsule. and yes I've noticed a lot of new Hubs are starting out well below 50. reason?

      Yikes!  I'll put a comments capsule in there right away, Alastar!  And thanks for noticing also.  I'm waiting to hear back.

         I've noticed a lot of new hubs without comment capsules. At first I just thought people were trying to avoid criticism, but it looks like there is (or was) a glitch in the hub-starting page.

            Thanks, Rochelle.  I also noticed last night as I was publishing a new hub that I had to add EVERY capsule, even though I'd chosen a beginning layout.  Weird.  Someone else has asked about that, but I've not gone back to the original thread to see if there has been a response.

      I was used to starting with a 50 too. One person explained that if people go on the hopper (as your brand new hub is published) and mark it down for a reason, that could lower your score. Also, I read that if you leave off the comments capsule, there is more room for another ad to be placed. Not sure if this is correct, but I read it from others on HP.

   Hubs written about topics that have many Hubs and articles elsewhere already written about that topic sometimes begin under 50 as well - this happens in HubMob some weeks, I've noticed. An effective title that mentions a new angle about the topic helps raise it higher. 
   
   My comments capsules are still showing up by themselves as usual, though. I'll see what happens today.

   I did notice that there was a glitch in the system and i had to manually add capsules, I hope it is corrected soon. I also noticed that the system would not accept the format of an existing hub.

   Hubscores have always fluctuated at the beginning. So hubs start out lower than others. I am sure there are a number of factors that go into determine hubscore.

   Hey Motown, the easiest way to ensure that a hub starts out higher than 50 is to hold on to it for a couple of days and travel to it, check it out-read it and edit.
   
   Even if you do nothing to it, the score will rise. I have published articles as high as 79, just because they sat for a few days. Yes, it does have something to do with the content of the page and how much you write, but that's not everything.

      Funny, Richie...someone else said something similar.  I've also seen others around today having my problem.  Oh, well.  I'll let it sort itself out.

         I have the same problem and suggested that the hubscore  be calculated after the publish button is activated. The responses were negative. Wish I saw this thread earlier.
         
         I am now working on a hub, not published yet. I worked on my first capsule then saved it to come back. Within 15 minutes of starting the hub, the score went to 47. That topic has not been published before. Totally unique to hubpages.
