Shortcut to get to hubs of lesser known authors

   (In danger of looking stupid) Is there, if not maybe there could be, a way to get to the hubs of lesser known authors, without having to go page by page or even the three at a time, that it's set up to now. I bet there are tons of great hubs back there, somewhere, and they just don't have a chance to come to light. Even after getting crosseyed in front of the screen, my marathon readings haven't gotten me further back then 80-90 pages...(Alright I get sidetracked easy) thanks Zsuzsy

   If you look at hubtivity you can see the hub just published, that based off of when the hub was published and not by hubscore.

      True, but I believe you only get hubs that are published from people you are a fan of, people who have answered your requests, and hubs that are in similar tags groups that you have favorited.
      
      So, you don't get ALL of the newly created hubs.

   Well you can always use the search tool to find whatever interest you most , I`ve found myself a lot of nice hubs that don`t have great score )

   I do all that.Seriously 140000+++  registered hubbers. Naturally there is a big percent that are not actively writing anymore. I have only been able to get to maybe 500-600. It's a shame to put in hours of creating a hub and no-one gets to reads it.   ZS

   I agree w/Zsuzsy.  You can spend hours and get through just a few hubs.
   
   Question:  Do hubs ever drop off, or get erased (for instance, if the hubber is no longer active)?

   Hubs are only removed if they violate one of our policies.  There  about 75,000 hubs by about 15,000 different authors.   You can find some lesser known Hubber's visually using this page (it cycles through about the top 1000).  Maybe we'll set up a page that just lists the title with a 100 or 200 hubs per page.  There is definitely some good old content that just never caught the search engines attention.

   I read the "latest" Hubs list a lot.  That's a great way to find all sorts of new stuff.

    Thanks for posting that link again, Paul!  I'd forgotten about it.  I've found some really interesting Hubs by using it in the past. 
    
    Where do you find this on the menus? Or do we have to keep a note of the link?

    How about a stumble type link Paul?, where you can visit a random hub by clicking on it, you could have the top 1000 or even every published hub on the list........jimmy

       I tend to click on a random hubbers profile, then one of their fans, then one of their fans and so on... There is some very interesting stuff buried in the background.

    Seems to me that coming into hubpages from outside, which is where all the paying action is suppose to come from, it is difficult to get used to. Seems to me the set up as is ok as is, but a lot of people are used to indexes and want to scan a list fast, and may not want to spend the time browsing. They also may interpret the number or score as the quality of the article and having stumbled on a page of low scores are out of here. That's the way I found it.
    Getting used to it I got to like it more, but if I wasn't planing on joining I would
    never have stuck around.

       I felt that when I first arrived, too.  I was used to the Helium front page, which has almost a newspaper-style layout showing the first few lines of a much larger range of articles in several columns.  They have the same layout on the equivalent of the Topics pages.  It means the casual visitor sees a much broader range of articles at a glance.
       
       Having said that, I think the point is casual visitors aren't expected to land on the front page of HubPages very often.  The idea is that they land on a specific Hub that's come up in Google as a result of a search - then they're led to other Hubs by the Related Hubs box. 
       
       I'm sure someone more knowledgeable wil correct me if I'm wrong!
