If you were given a chance to become a full-time internet marketer, would you want to be one? I ask this because I've no problem being one but some people don't want to work in front of a PC. So, I want to know a general perspective.
I already am one and love it. I can't think of a better type of job. I work in my ragged shorts at home, take time off whenever I want, I can move anywhere I want, work any hours I want.
The only downside is pushing yourself to work, but that is true with any self employed job.
We could only expect this to improve drastically in the future. We should be getting paid way more and there should be a ton of jobs from this(if not millions). Sadly Google wants all the money for themselves. They probably are trying to amass as much content as they can before people start realizing there is a goldmine here.
I work on my computer as a freelance translator. The pluses are just as Bill describes and do apply to any freelance activity.
I think that with respect to full-time work, I'm happier translating than marketing. I find translating intellectually stimulating, and I also do not have any talent for marketing speak.
However, if I could be 100% sure that doing full-time internet marketing for a certain length of time would then assure me enough residual income so I did not have to work full-time any more, I would obviously do it!
If I could earn enough from it I definitely would - at the moment I am putting a lot of time in and hoping it pays rewards in the long run.
I am a beauty blogger and so far it has proven to be making money, the beauty industry will continue to grow and there is so many products to promote.
I've been looking for something full time with good money online but the best ones are not offered outside of US, CANADA and UK.
It's the internet...it doesn't matter where you live, generally. You can earn money through U.S. based affiliate networks, and they will pay you in your native currency if you want.
You have to create your own business, and work long hours at it, until it pays off. If you're not sure you want to do that, you're probably not the entrepreneurial type. It's hardly a get-rich-quick thing..there's a lot of planning and hard work involved.
Well Cardisa, I see you live in Jamaica, so you have got a great place to live the Internet marketing lifestyle.
My daughter has had her online business for 5 years now, and it was built on one E-book which she wrote. She has 37,000 subscribers to her fortnightly news letter and her business is about to go in to it's next stage of growth, and is now in a second broad niche market.
The problems are many, but it does allow time in the sun, and as she find better outsourcing, the work load is coming off as the business grows.
That is one advantage over bricks and mortar businesses.
I hope you find a business model that suits you.....there are many.
I can think of no better job, being your own boss, every job has its downsides..you need to be aware of these before you start
No. I can imagine better jobs and, for me at least, I think I have one.
Yep! I would not have given up any of my bricks and mortar businesses to go online before retiring. Was having way to much fun!
That is my goal...to learn how to do this, and make decent money. I don't like "real" jobs...I'm way too uncomfortable dealing with people face to face, so this is perfect for me.
But luckily, I have a husband who works, and so that gives me the freedom to tackle my dream...
I think investing online or internet marketing is great. There is not that too much hassle compared to managing a restaurant.
