Unless I am just not seeing it, how can you tell when a hub was published? I look at other hubs and wonder when it was published and can only get an idea by looking at the comments and when the comments were poasted.
I know that for my own hubs I can look under account settings but I am more interested in knowing how my public can know when the hub was published.
Is there a trick for adding a published date that won't change if you go in and tweak the hub days or months or years later?
Hubs are supposed to be evergreen, so the published dates were not important. Just a guess.
I agree with SunSeven. It's important that hubs don't look dated, because fresh and current gets the traffic.
i agree, but if there are comments on it,it can give you a good estimate of the age, or date of it.
....as the comments have some time frame such as how long they were posted..
The Hub "date" is most for the author and SEO value, and not for the reader.
However, as you already stated, the comment section and the statistics page is how you can see the dates with regards to age of a Hub.
But, anyone searching Hubs + (Your username), then will get a list of your hubs, comments and forum posts. The age will show on that search. Something I checked out, when this question was asked once before.

I've been here for a few months now and am starting to notice some genuinely poor quality hubs, and a decent number of air headed morons using 'question' button to ask some of what they clearly believe are life's important questions: 'What if then Sun suddenly disappeared?', 'what is the best way...

How is it that a hub on the 'common mistakes new hubbers make' can suddenly become not featured, in spite of the fact it has had 9 views in a day, 24 views in 7 days and 35 views in the last 30 days? I only replied to comments on it both 42 hours ago and 22 hours ago (from two different hubbers)....

Do you think it is important to comment on a hub if you have read it?I've read that some hubber's read hubs but do not leave comments. On person said be assured I read your hubs even when I don't comment. I don't get it. I think it is courtesy to comment if you read someone's...

I'm pretty new at this, so I can really only gauge my hubs' performance against one another! This one is one of my earliest hubs, yet it has fewer views than ones that I've published just a few days ago.http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Choose-T … k-CookwareGranted, it's only been 3 weeks, but...

Is your first hub (or hubs) still published? Is it getting views and comments? What is different about it and the hubs you are now writing? This is especially for those that have been here a year or more, but anyone can contribute.

I love HubPages, I feel that I have learned so much here and my confidence in writing non-fiction took such a huge leap when I was invited onto the Apprenticeship program last year. I have met some wonderful people here - both staff and other Hubbers. But as may other people have said, the idling...
