Hi Hubbers,
I am concerned about my hub author score. I have read the FAQ's about this topic but I am still perplexed as to why my score fell two points in one day. I have increased my participation in the Hub community and published two more hubs this weekend. I'm worried that I am inadvertently doing something that's harming my score. I haven't duplicated content or linked to other sites....I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Mine has fallen 3 points! No big deal. No one knows what it means anyway!
Thanks Randy. I appreciate your response.
Be happy. No need to worry about hubber score. All the best.
I agree with the others...not a concern. Mine was at 95 on Sunday, today is Tuesday and it's 90. It bounces up and down. Like Sofs said, as long as you're above 75, it's not anything to be worried about.
Are you sure you read the FAQ on hubscores?
http://hubpages.com/faq/#hubscorecalc
You may want to go back and re-read it again, especially the part that includes "It [the score] will also fluctuate quite a bit, seemingly at random, and that is nothing to worry about."
I really hate to say this, but my score went up 4 points and I haven't done anything on hubpages in 5 days. I have no idea why either. I thought my score would have dropped to 80 or below by now.
Hey Tiffany, my score fell by four points last week.. who cares.. I haven't done a thing and it is getting closer to my last weeks scores... the weekends when traffic falls there is a falling of scores that I have noticed.
Scores mean nothing at all. As long as your profile score is above 75 you are do follow, your hubs are do follow above 40 so ...don't worry, just enjoy what you do Welcome to HP and have loads of fun here
Thank you for the insight, sofs. I appreciate your post.
Yes, I read that part. I posted on this forum in hopes that more experienced Hubbers could give their opinions on the reasons for fluctuations.
Variations of plus or minus 5 points really don't seem to mean much of anything.
That's good to know. Thank you for the info.
Tiffani Regan: From what I have noticed, your profile score is quite dependent on the number of visitors that your hubs receive.
You will notice that a profile score will rise if the day before the number of visitors was higher than the previous day or it will fall if the contrary is true.
Hub hoping, questions/answers, forum participation etc, help but this appears to be minuscule in the plethora of factors. Fluctuations are to be expected and don't deserve too much attention, unless your score slants below a certain level.
After being here for over four years now, I'm so used to my HubScore fluctuating it doesn't bother me anymore. As long as you continue to write solid content and take part in the community it will increase from there.
I am not allowed to post a link here, but look under my Best Hubs for one called How New Hubbers Ruin their Hubscore.
Peter, thank you so much for the suggestion. I read your Hub and feel like I understand the system a little better now. It was so perplexing to me that the more involved I became the lower my score went! It's hovering at an 80 right now. Thanks again.
80 is good for now. Stay involved, just naturally, reading and following what you like, not for the sake of getting followers.

My Grandmother used to say, "Every frog praises his own pond."I finally got a profile score of 100, and I am proudly exclaiming excitement!!!...it'll be gone tomorrow...or TONIGHT...or the next couple of hours even...RIBBIT!!!

I have noticed it is hovering just below 85 recently. I have a few Hubs with a score of around 71, could this be the reason?

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

I had a bunch of forum posts two months ago about hubscore dropping due to following too many people. It got so much action that I wrote hub about it.<snipped link>New question on Hubscore:When I write a hub, and people comment, I usually respond to each comment by writing a follow-up...

This month has been a really great month for me. My Hub views have been at 500% views each week, averaging 200-300 views a day. My actual score has went from 90 to 80 in that time. I know there is no correlation between the score and the content, but it still agitates me lol.
