Its like all these people have stopped doorknocking, and decided "woo hoo" lets hassle people on the Internet, they can't bang the door in our faces as easily., and we can rant and rave to our hearts content. But what makes us reply to them.... Dunno. In the case of Mark Knowles, (Great Hubber)
I think it is for the sheer devilment of letting them off their respective leashes, undoing their muzzels and letting them yap.
People can think whatever they want... Worship, whatever they want or choose not to bother at all. Its really sad that so called Christians feel so unconfident about their religions, they have to seek constant justificcation.
Perhaps it is a fear of the unknown.??????????????
I think its a shame if you have to enforce the importance of your religion. Like Marx said, "Religion is the opium for masses", a lot of people drift along with it, without using their faculties to make a right decision. It hampers the growth. Everyone has a right to have their own opinions, but this tendency in humans to exert their importance overpowers them.
Had this been the case even in that case religious forum would have got most post but then people would have discussed about their religion peacefully, would have listened to others and learned from each other, helped each other. All these things would still have generated great response.
Alas this is not the case. It seems when people come on this forum they are already in the mood to fight. A religious forum provide a good platform to fight and hence all those with fighting instinct find it a good place to kill their time. This too generates a good traffic to religious forums but the purpose and outcome is different.
I feel religion is a personal thing. And being personally a product of two religions, I have had a very tolerant upbringing. It is all in the parents hands. You can make it as important or not important as you want for your children.
I have married the man from my mother's religion, but that does not mean that i care less for my father's religion.
More than religion I feel its important to be a good human being.
A big thumbs up for that. That's we all should be (my personal believe) believe in what you want to but also respect others. One who cannot be good human being can never be good for anything. It really doesn't make any sense to me when I see people fighting in the name of God. Both will speak the same thing the only difference is that they read it from different books. Fighting for that!!!
I think it is definitely for the argument value, as the question that I have asked deliberately does not set out to cause friction.
Thx mandybeau
I post on the religious hubs when I am told I am a sinner as I do not like presumptuous pre-loaded questions that "assume" a belief in any particular god, and therefore believe in sin.I don't like "Have you stopped beating your wife yet" questions! Some religious posters do not allow for any belief outside theirs.
Haha Sinning, what a crock the biggest pile of Paeodophiles, and weirdos go to Church, and all the Good people stand there oblivious to the fact they are in the same room.
I have no need to worry, I believe it is How you execute your life rather than attendance that makes you the better person.
Never been good at attendence but have been known to appear for auspicious occassions.
Religion is the most boring thing to listen to cuz everyone is guessing for a million years until the alieans comes no one knows or they are moses and climbing mountains and talkin' to God.
When one of the gods causes the children's cancer wards to close through lack of patients I will start believing in that god!
This has always been the reason, I have questioned religion. My Teachers used to say that pain and suffering brought you nearer to thou. However I have a 150 I.Q. and cannot figure, for the life of me
How the Hell people can believe this Stuff.
Also I went to a funeral once, the poor man had diesd suddenly, after a short but terrible battle with Cancer, and the Man that did the service Starts off with We are all here today because of Cancer, so some good has come from a disease we all fear.
Total Plonker, made all the family start howling it was horrible.
I find the Religion forum quite amusing. For a bunch of people who claim to be peace-loving and [insert god]-fearing, the fighting, judging, and downright vicious behavior to each other and non-believers is phenomenal. My guess is they'll still be fighting among themselves and with anyone who doesn't agree with them when they get to the Pearly Gates.
Makes me want to run right out and join a church...not!

Why are people so quick to attack others beliefs? This forum is a prime example! Whenever I click on any forum post, it is filled with condescending word wars! It seems like most of us have absolutely no respect for one another on here. I can't speak for everyone, but Christians, aren't we supposed...

Religious postsThey are drowning this site. The whole my god is better than your god thing has worn me out. The same bigots claiming to be true christians whilst making ignorant remarks about other religions. Then there's the real lunatics who behave as if they're suffering from a kind of biblical...

I have noticed that an increasing number of people seem to have joined this site merely to spam religion on the forum. This would be okay if it was not for the fact that this is a forum for writers, not theists.I am all for having a community forum, but I believe it should be a community forum for...

This question is for the anti-gay folk who spend an enormous amount of energy in various gay groups and forums. Why?Is it because you want to make sure everyone knows you are not gay? What are you SO afraid of if you stop preaching your anti-gay beliefs?GLBT forums are supposed to be for GLBT...

I am new here so it's possible this has been suggested before. How about a debate forum, separate from the other forums, where contentious topics can be debated? So, if people wanted to discuss, say, a philosophical topic in the Religion forum and someone jumped in and started debating,...

I am surprised. I yesterday posted this topic 'Can Science explain everything?'. This hubber came out and gave me some answers. Now as I have provided him some reasons, he hot hurt and started to post nasty personal attacks. He said this to me, I quote: "This is why religious people such as...
