      Ooh!  My favorite Dick Francis novels were Nerve, Odds Against and For Kicks.  He writes a very likeable hero.

    I'm reading up on phenomenology and moral philosophy, so at the moment I'm mired in Kant and Hegel. Nietzche and Kierkegaard are next.

    For the kids, I'm in the middle of reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to them.

    And just for fun and inspiration, I have Uncanny X-Men First Class and X-Men Forever on my pull list.

    Yeah, I guess I read a lot.

      If you're reading Hegel, you might want to try Freedom and Necessity, a Hegel-heavy epistolary novel by Emma Bull and Steven Brust.  Wonderful!

      And if your kids like Harry Potter, and if you haven't already, you may want to try them on Diana Wynne Jones--she's ten times better, especially her old stuff.
